Re: Setting or BIN?
do you mean no quality? read this:
quality and signal
quality- this bar indicates the signal the dish is picking up from the sat.
eg; echostar 7, nimic 1,3 etc... if your dish is not aligned you will not have
quality but you could have signal.
signal- this bar tells you the status of your connections including your coax,
all ends on the coax, and your switch. if you have no signal you cant pick up quality so both will read 0.
always check your settings and connections first and always turn your stb off before moving, changing,
or disconnecting anything.
now that you know that try these hints:
signal and quality issues
if you are having problems with signal or quality try these steps:
* do a hard reboot with the switch on back.
* make sure you have the right sat selected in your antenna settings.
* check your antenna settings to be sure they are correct.
* check all your connections including the switch to be sure they are tight and working.
* if your quality is low or 0 you may need to align your dish.
* make sure you have the latest bin file.
* try different lnb types to be sure you have the right one.
* before moving, changing, or disconnecting any cables turn your stb off with the
switch on back.

Re: Setting or BIN?
I did the hard boot switching it off from the back but still no luck. It's not the dish as i am getting perfect pics from the same dish using a SV box.
It's I am trying to use CS in a different room. Thanks.

Re: Setting or BIN?
check your connections to the coolsat, (I just had a problem, one of my cables got moisture in it and it rusted off where it connects to the switch!)
if you find they are all good try loading the new bin again to see if there was a glitch or something.

Re: Setting or BIN?
I uploaded BIN 180 three times and turned off each time but still no luck.
Is 180 a working BIN, one at least gets me some pics?

Re: Setting or BIN?
ohhh i have the same problem, try turning off the lnb power for the coolsat box because it is already receiving power from other boxes. if your running a single lnb to 2 different boxes are you using a splitter? if so that might be the problem. I tried to split my lnb to 2 boxes but i can't it to work tho. i think you need a specific type of splitter. happy testing. ducsays out.
ps. might want to try 182, i think its out.

Re: Setting or BIN?
thanks ducsays.....
but don't think it's the splitter bc if i put another SV in another room, it works fine. the only problem is when i put CS5K with 180 Bin or with 183 BIN. both gives me no signal or quality for Sat 110 or 119.
the strangest thing for all the experts and mods here is that if i plug the wire in that room to a SV (as previously mentioned), it works well.
anyone?

Re: Setting or BIN?
SINGLE LNB. The same LNB had worked with CS5K, the same box I tried to use now. I put it away bc i have been using SV. Now, I removed the SV and put back the CS5K in the same exact counter top with the same LNB, nothing on the CS5K.
It didn't work with 180 and had NOT worked with 183 since it came out last week. It has been some what frustrating. I know you guys are the expert.
I have not touched or changed any wire, cable, or dish. Just unplug CS5K, used SV for some time, and now try to put back CS5K. And is HAS NOT WORKED EVER SINCE.
There are plenty of experts on this site, right?
I posted the setting (which was the same ones I used and they worked), hard booted few times, make sure the autoroll is ON, and reloaded BIN 180 or 183 few times too.
Suggestions?

Re: Setting or BIN?
just to start off my friend anytime that you do not get a signal you have a hardware issue check your f connectors if you are switching recivers you could have pulled one of the cables but it is a harware issue cable probably .. check the connections

Re: Setting or BIN?
You never said if your single LNB was DP or Legacy?
But no matter that now.
When you go to dish setting page, you should have 2 green bars.
If they are red...you are dead.
If your display shows "No or Bad Signal"...then you have no signal...and this is not a receiver problem.
But I suggest you start playing with different settings until you get green bars.
You can also read my CoolSat Setup Instructions below to help.
