How To Update The Dvb 500

Connect rs232 null upgrade cable to pc (comport 1 if poss)
and connect to the receiver. You can get a null modem adapter from rat shack part num. 26-264 (this will change your straight thru to null.)
Find spacestar files.
Click twice on 2K232. click file and select comport 1.
Click dtsb and scroll to update software (safe) F3 only and click
twice.it will load a sec. and ask you for a file.
open the newest spacestar bin,
Your update should be loading.at that time your receiver will say 5555 Wait untill
everything on the screen stops loading and the receiver
has all r r r r 's on the unit. click dstb and disconnect.
Unplug your receiver and replug it in.
You may now load your favorate Channel list with PCedit.
(This receiver is also supported by SharpC's Channel Master Program.)
TO Scan,
Click on MENU>Installation>Click OK Password is(0000)>Search program>Click OK
*ON Satellite name choose
Echostar 7
freq low 11250
Hi 0
Lnb Power Auto
Diseqc Sw #1
Search Auto
Press OK to Start Scan
Do the same on
Echostar 6 & 8
But put Diesqc Sw to #
when all is scanned and complete.
Exit and save
Click Menu
Edit CH/Sat/TP
OK 0000
Edit TV programs OK
Press Q (on bottom rt. of remote)
Sort All
OK
EXit OK Watch TV!
To load a channel list using pc edit.
Open Pcedit
Click file Open
find channel list in .dat fprmat and open.
Click connect. Data download.
Wait untill finished
You may create your own list by first doing a scan then open pc edit,
click connect, data upload.
