CS Bin for one but not the other

When the last ECM hit my CS6000 I lost some PPV channels (Movie Channels) but all the channels I used to get from DN, plus a few more, were still working just fine. I don't get this "I'm DOWN" thing at all. If your box stops working all together when an ECM hits, you've got something set up all wrong. I'm as big a newbie as the next guy, but I'm real happy with my CS6000 and the programming it gives me. I'd be paying DN over $60 per month for what I'm getting right now for FREE. And another $40 every time I want to watch a "WWE" PPV program.

The new bin file went in today without a whine or whimper and in just a few seconds I was back on-line with ALL channels working.

Don't forget to turn off your receiver before hooking up the serial cable from your PC to the receiver, or damage to the receiver may result.

Being on a fixed income, I'm not going to be running out and buying a new receiver any time soon. Not while my CS6000 is still working as good as it is.

My car is no longer being made either, but I'm not going to buy a new car. lol.

Sorry to disappoint you but this has been going on since the blackout in the summer of '06 and will doubtless continue ad infinitum. Coolsat may not be the first out but rarely are they the last. Moreover, when Coolsat bins are released, they are usually rock solid compared to other receivers who may be first out of the gate but wind up with the release of one (or more) patches and revisions shortly thereafter. I fully anticipate another wrinkle in the ECM in the next week or two and if files are delayed, expect to see posts from the same tunnel vision folks clamoring for a fix as though it is their right to have one. Often forgotten in the mix is the right of the provider to protect their property. I don't use nor depend on my FTA receiver as my sole source for TV viewing. To me, the FTA receiver is a novelty and I tinker with it as such. I still only use a single receiver although I have upgraded it twice (and its still a Coolsat).

Quite frankly, I would some day like to see the providers themselves come out with an FTA receiver of their own that doesn't trample on PPV or other premium protected content...yet provide access to true FTA and broadcast network channels from a single bird (then I can get rid of my motor). The topic is a complicated one so I'll reserve that for another thread.

The first thing I did when the bin was up and running was go to the PPV area and get my reservation in for the next WWE PPV on Dec 16.
It's been my experience, so far, that the CS6k remembers that reservation and allows one to view the event even after an ECM has hit the box.
Last Sunday evening I watched a PPV event, after we'd been hit by the last ECM.

Just a thought for those who like to watch the WWE PPV's or Championship Boxing. Get your reservation in early.

Well heres some good news from the coolsat website PCI cards have released a emulation fix so the receiver fixes should start to come down soon!!!

I own 1 coolast 6k and nFusion... I'm really happy with the nFusion! really easy to set up, even easier than a coolsat... though you plug it in and it works, no updates, no downtown. Anyone wanna buy my coolsat, its not a clone, but I do not need it... it's a piece of ....

Please explain what this means and how it helps fixes come sooner. I too am thinking of switching, but I really like my cs6k alot. I have heard that nfusion is the way to go and am researching the possibilities. This cs support slam has gone on at many other forums and they (cs) don't seem to care. The 4,5 and 6 k's seem to be down as much as they are up and I have only seen one weekend that they were up in the last several bins that I remember.
