now power

I have a Coolsat 6000P I turned it on and got the green rider lights for about 5 secs. and then it went blank did this a couple of times and now will not come on at all, nothing, nada, ziltch, it's not getting any power at all, think it's blown and it's on a surge protecter? Should I throw it in the trash or what? only had it for about 6 months.

Here is something from someone else it doesn't say they have tried it on the 4000 but it may help.

If you have a dead 5000 or 6000 coolsat box try this, replace this part (see pictures) I have fix 1 5000 and 1 6000 box now. one that had no lights or any power on it and 1 that had dim lights on it and both had the same part bad, you can use any volts that are over 6.3 but you must use
1000 uf. I can not say for sure all boxs have the same volts or uf how ever i have look at 4 boxs and all were the same. the part I used was 25 v 1000 uf

Sorry it took so long, but I had to go online and order the capa, put it in and it works like a charm, so THANKS ALOT BEL good job.
