End of support for CS6000?
How come all other CS boxes have the files and not CS6000???? Does that mean that it's not gonna be supported any more and we'll have to buy a new one, which eventually would get replaced also????
I just got this box a month ago and already its becoming end of support???
What do you guys think????

Re: End of support for CS6000?
Support for your box was over before you bought it,4,5,6, are all outdated. A lot of people are in the same boat{like me} but files keep coming with no promise of anymore support. One day they will not have a file for us,everyone says update but I keep hoping this time wont be the end. Good Luck

Re: End of support for CS6000?
dont know that much about the cs but it sounds like it is a older model so fixes will be slow in coming. how old is the receiver you have.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
I have CS5000 for the last two years, but I'm not ready to move on to another box. I was thinking about Sonicview or Captive Works. They seem to have the fastest supports for the longest time.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
Bin 177 has never worked when it came out. 4/5/6 has become useless and tiresome if you have to use an older bin in place of the newest bin.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
The 4,5,6 is very, very slow in support. There are several rumors why cs stopped supporting them, but basically people are lucking to get support at all. Sorry to say but it may or may not get future support.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
cs 6000 may or may not have a new bin release. They concentrate on 6100 and up. If you are in the market for a new receiver, I would not recomend cs period...even the new models will not be supported as good as some of the other receivers.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
It took about a year for Coolsat to officially announce their abandonment of the 4000, 5000, and 6000 units. [It was like pulling 3 teeth of information!] I should hope this never happens again. Coolsat announced a fair trade policy for owners with original receipts of said units purchased from authorized cs dealers [their list] plus $80 plus shipping. For just under $100 and your proven trade in unit, you will receive a 6100, a savings of about $80.
The said units are not supported by CS; and not primarily supported by NORW Group.
If you meet the factory policy requirements, trade in your unit for a new 6100. Read the fine print; there are rules. You must not have a third party bin installed, such as NORW. Then use it or sell it.
This issue is no longer a mystery.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
Guys, please read the million other posts regarding the support of the lower end coolsat models. If you bought the box a month ago, you really did not do any homework on the best units out there. Coolsat support for its lower models has fallen apart almost a year now. The best of Coolsat has moved onto the Kbox brand. Get rid of them and buy a newer and better supported box. The CW and SV have some great priced models that have the very best of support even VS has a model for pretty cheap. Or you could just upgrade to a newer coolsat model. Its business folks...they want you to buy new, not old.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
so what receiver do you guys recommend. I'mnew to this, so I just want a basic receiver without any bells and whistles. I already spent $100 on this CS6000.
Which one should I get? Something relatively cheap which would have the bet support for a long time???
Please advise...
thanks.

I love the SV 4000, the support is the best. Captive Works receivers have great support and great value, most of there models depending on where you buy are under $125.
p.s. With the sv 4000, you do not need a serial cable to load, all you need is a usb memory stick. Very easy and very fast.

Re: End of support for CS6000?
i came across something that said SV 4000 is discontinued????
It's crazy. So now i'm thinking of SV 360 elite or premier (what's the difference)
I definitely want to go with SonicView. Just trying to decide which one. the only thing i care about is the long term support.
So is the SV4000 end of support rumor true?
thanks

Re: End of support for CS6000?
hell no, the sv 4000 may have been discontinued...but there are still many out there and the support is one of the best dude. I have a few boxes out there and have one myself, and i would not mislead you in anyway. If you want to upgrade to the 360, its also a great box. It all depends on the money you want to spend bro.

There is no better receiver than the viewsat. You can get the viewsat lite for 90.00, the new ultra lite for 115.00. The trade in policy for the coolsat 5000 to the 6100 is a "sham" You can get a coolsat 6100 for 110.00 shipping included. Keep the 5 and 6000 you never know what might happen.(you know all receivers below 6100 is discontinued!)
