Non-JTag Pansat 2500A to 2700 Conversion Step by Step
Copy & Past
Use at your own Risk
These steps were taken with an Original 2500A...The most important part of this conversion is to "BE PATIENT." Your 2500A will have abnormal displays but this is part of the process.
There are many that have had problems using the conversation files and I have been successful with the conversaton and wanted to provide a step by step on the process.
The files that are needed are located here http://www.abadss.com/forum/162-pans...2700-file.html
---DO A FACTORY REST ON THE 2500A BIN BEFORE COMPLETING ANY OF THE BELOW STEPS---- I ALSO LOADED THE 236BIN BEFORE I PROCEEDED. Found here.... http://www.abadss.com/forum/162-pans...ansat2500.html
---Connect your 2500A to your computer but "DO NOT TURN IT ON"
---Use the BlackList updater 1.4 which is included with the download. Open and run the BlackLIst updater 1.4. (You are writing a BIN so make sure BIN is selected)
--Choose the correct Com Port
--Select the j27_205_1.bin. (Wait...Dont proceed)
VERY IMPORTANT
---Turn your 2500A on from the back and at the first sign of light on the display, CLICK WRITE BIN....
---Your receiver will upload as normal to 100%...The receiver will reboot and show B75. BE PATIENT this may take a few minutes.
---After B75 is displayed the receiver will either show "ON" or display a channel number.
---Turn off your receiver from the back
---Now select the jvvh_208_1.bin. (Wait...Dont proceed)
---Again turn on you 2500A from the back and at the first sign of light on the display, CLICK WRITE BIN....
---You receiver will not count up a precentage....The display will look abnormal. "BE PATIENT" Wait until the receiver reboots, shows B75 or just 5 and wait until the unit shows "ON" or a channel number.
Once complete you now have a Pansat 2700. Your new receiver will now always boot showing the B75 or 5 and then show the channel number or on. The B75 or 5 will display for about 5-10 seconds
Now you can scan your channels as normal. I always scan the highest number birds first. The installation screen onlly shows the follwoing birds....
UNUSED
110
119
91
I am not sure why but it may be to conserve memory. Make sure you set the default key, turn autoroll on and change your time setting so that your EPG displays properly.
This worked flawlessly for me on the first try........Autorolling better than ever....
Thanks to No_PaRoLe
Good Luck everyone - Happy testing

Use the straight thru cable on a 2500. I suspect u didnt wait long enough for the first file to boot all the way to ON or a channel number. It can take 3-5 minutes, Be very Patient and try the j27 205 again.
Having done a ton of Flu's and 2500a's here in the last week, not 1 failure so far.All still running 100%. Amazing piece of work by jvvh 5897. Its like viagra for those old boxes. Does everything better than original, A/R, faster scans, better epg, everything better. This is the culmination of more than a years work by jvvh and his buds. Why did he do it peeps ask? Answer: because he can and to show peeps how big a liar BL is with his claims of not enough memory.

This unit is a true workhorse.....It is my favorite of all my units because of its reliability. Do put it to rest yet. As Darl936 said this unit is on Viagra. i could not believe how fast it scans now and how quick the channels change. I had to look at it again to make sure it was my 2500A. Really nice work. Someone needs to give an award to Jvvh...

Thats the beauty of this work by jvvh Mandy, he has compressed the 2meg flash of the 2700 to fit & function in the 1meg memory of the 2500,Flu's and almost all clones of this box. Never ever try to flash or jtag a 2700 bin into a 2500 before it has been modded by jvvh with his wizardry.
To ,no parole, I'd like to add the superb video quality this old box has always had and still does. I have 1 DEC.04 Flu that really stands out. I'm serious, peeps have asked me when seeing it for the first time,"Is that thing HD ?" Cracks me up I luv that ole flu and when she is up & runnin, she occupies the spot on top of the big tv. LOL
