2500A setup instructions

1. Plug in the receiver, check and see that the ?ON? is indicated on the LED on the receiver.
2. Connect the serial cable to the receiver and Com1 port of your computer. (Use Com2 if not Com1 is not available).
3. Run the Downloader from the new created folder.
4. Type "Pansat 2500A"(no quote) for the STB Model(REMEMBER WHAT YOU TYPE, YOU WILL NEED TO TYPE THE SAME MODEL WHEN YOU DO THE UPDATE AGAIN)
5. Click the Bin File button, browser and select the ?latest update? file, then click the Open button.
6. Double check and make sure the serial cable is securely connected.
7. Click the Download button, wait until the ?Download Completed!!? display. Watch the LED on the receiver, it should reboot itself, wait until the ?ON? display.
8. You are done with the software update.

Connecting the receiver to the TV.
9. Unplug the power cable from the receiver
10. Connect all the RCA cable from the TV to the receiver, connect the R6 Cable from the dish to the receiver. Plug the power cord on the receiver.
11. You should see the Language Menu on the TV screen, select English.

Satellite Setup.
12. Goto the Installation Option, enter ?0000? for p*********word
13. Goto the Antenna setup Option,
14. Select satellite you want (birds Echo8.6/Ku at 110W and Echo7/Ku at 119W are the Dishnet birds), press the OK button. DO NOT select more then one satellite if you only have one satellite.
15. LNB Type: select ?Standard?
16. LNB Local-Freq: enter ?11250?
17. 22kHz: OFF
18. DiSeqC: 0, if you have two lnbs on the dish or two dish then change it to the correct lnb #1, #2, so on...
19. Skew: 45
20. TP: leave it as is
21. Check the Level= highest as you can, and Quality= highest as you can (adjust the dish slightly to improve the signal strength)
22.If you get no quality level on these transponders, try others before giving up. Not all transponders are transmitting all the time. MAKE SURE THE CABLE IS PLUGGED INTO THE "IF INPUT" PORT ON THE BACK OF THE RECEIVER! Plug the other end directly into the LNB on your Dish.
23. Readjust your dish if you still not getting any quality signal
24. Press the Exit button, press OK to save setting

Read Option 1 and 2 before you proceed

Option 1:Scanning for Channel(20 minutes)
25. Go back to the Installation Menu
26. Goto Satellite Scan, press OK, select the satellite to scan using the left or right vol button(it should turn RED). Press OK to start the scanning.

Or
Option 2: Use channel master and upload a channels list(much faster)
25. Goto to the channel list section, download the STB tools, download a channel list in your area. unzip the files
26. Run channel master
27. Goto file, open the channels list
28. Goto tools, then write to STB , make sure STB: Pansat 2500A is selected, press next when completed.(the receiver will reboot automatically)

29. Goto to the main menu, Goto Parental Control, Goto Second Pin, enter "0000", press OK, goto Set default key, Press OK, press Exit 3 times.

The bin in that file is guaranteed by black list not to kill real 2500a. I can't see the #'s on the chip set. The processor has the heat sink on it and the tstop is not clear, it's the one next to the big square on. Does it have a manufacture date on the back of it of Sep-04 ? When you say it killed it, what is it doing ?

No manufacture date on this box. Its pretty new I purchsaded it a few days ago. What happend was that it was working fin I followed the instruction from (bogus) and it worked fin for about 1/2 hour then the box just shut off. Right now it has no power no lights or anything. I open the box and it has no power in the inside or outside. I cannot get it to power up. I was going to try to JTAG but this reciever has a 12 pin jtag button. I never seen a 12 pin jtag. I do not have a jtag I have to get one. Any advise will be great.

hello all, having problem used channel master can't write channel list into my pansat 2500A , I still having Gtools inside my computer do I have delete it?

I Have A Pansat 2500a That Looks Like A Pantec ,it's Grey And Blue It Does Not Seem To Accept The New Bins,when I Load It,it Stays On "on" And Gives A Blank Image On The Tv.is This Box A Clone?
