question to everybody about 3500
Guys I have a friend with 3500 in trouble,the problem is no have any quality but the signal is fine,I see something about the lost signal in that receiver but don't remember exactly were was,please if somebody found that post let me know,is something about replacement of some capacitors on 3500.
The dc is not present on the LNBs is part of the problem.
Any help is very welcome .

yup,i have read the 3500's are having problems with the caps also.
its a very easy fix and very cheap.
the board is a little diff than the 2700's but still same idea,and this should help you pretty much figure it out.

This change was not the solution to my problem.
The problem is bigger than capacitores .

Very good info, but I did exactly what I see in that document,the c13 and c14 were replaced but the STB still with the same problem,when is cold start on 99% of quality but around 2 or 3 minutes the signal begin to going down until desapear totally.

Are those caps getting hot too?? I know cpu can get warm but i think is no so much in order for the stb to loose signal. Maybe the problem could be else were. If you have a tester try to test the caps and resistors.

Hey arbo,my problem is with lose of signal,after few minutes working after a new load the signal start in 100% but in about 3 min start to going down,I did the change c13-c14 recomended but nothing happened,I check all voltage in the conector out and I found in the position of LNB H/V ,the meter don't show me any value.
Could you help me with this?

check this out buddy:
c/p:
No 13v to 18v switching to lnb
0 volts at sat in connector= no signal
20v at connector vertical transp only
Bad power transistor
Replace # Tip42C, the transistor on main board
directly in front of large silver box that the
lnb connects to. (Illustration #1 in photo)
Note: Can use NTE332 for Tip42C, do not use Tip42A or Tip42B.
Check orientation before removal and install in same direction.
Leave legs long
All voltages tested at Sat In connector at rear of box center hole to ground.
