Hold the power button when your turning on the switch in the back this should allow you to load the factory fix ok? I had this happen when I loaded a 800 bin into my 600 big mistake LOL I have 800 boxes and 600's and I got caught up in the moment and forgot what I had plugged in? Give this a shot IAN it should work ok? Remember it may take a couple tries

Have you tried this item. It has all the necessary files and instruction on how to repair your receiver if it is a CW600S and not 600P.

Thanks to everyone...the issue in getting it back to the factory default turned out to be that I was using a USB to Serial adapter since my new PC doesn't have a serial port (like 3.5 floppies they are obsolete)...I boot from --:-- on the STB with the USB but boot from the normal BOOT screen with the straight null modem cable...

I solved it by going to my old machine which is in my son's room and downloading the correct file from there.

Again my heart felt thanks to everyone on these forums who patiently helped me figure it out step by step...sometimes the answer is obvious but you can't always see the woods for the trees!!
