which cw 600?
i have a cw 600 in my hands right now but cannot figure out if it is a 600s or 600p. can anyone tell me how to tell the difference? also what kind of rs232 cable does it use? i have on that i used for my captain 7100 usb and wanted to know if it is the same. thanks in advance for your reply.

If its a cw600p it should say on front of box captive works cw-600s premium and it uses a reg rs232 serial cable

Yes, the Serial Cable from your Captain unit will work in this instance with your CW unit as they both require a NULL cable. This is not always the case with every unit, but in this case, it should make things easier.

ok then look on the bottom of the box and see what the serial number starts with...if its a 600p the serial number should start with CWP

You might be able to use the menu system and find the receiver info page and that should tell you.

if you have a cable just try it, if it wont work it shouldnt hurt your stb, it will just say error on your pc screen.

they sure don't have the quality of your captain 7100.your going to miss that one.(and probably now realize just how nice it was).
but the premiums (beside their really,really,really poor cheap remotes) have some good features.you should like it pretty good.but their will be a place in your heart for that captain 7100 RIP.
and so it sadly come to be.
the captain 7100 usb went down with a little "poof" with little fan base.
perhaps the best widely unrecognized fta receiver of all time.
