help with loading a new bin

i have firmware v1.06p loader but i can get it to load onto my 600 premium. it stays at zoro percent. anybody know why this would happen iam using a usb to serial adapter the a female serial to female to the box. might this be the problem or am i supposed to have another program for the bin file installed. any help

usb to serial adapters normally use different com port settings. this depends mostly on the software driver and your pc. try using com 4 but if that does not work, try all available com port setting to see if you can get one to work.

you did not state if you are using the cable supplied with the unit. if you are not, you may need a different cable. some use straight through, some use null modem, or crossover cables. in the help sections, you can find a file that tells you what type of cable is needed for each receiver. if your using the one that came with the unit your prob ok....

by the way i bought athe usb to serial at radioschack the used the one tat came with the unit attched to that.

Radio Shack for personal expreience dont work.. better look into another brands.

You will have to upgrade your membership to download files but very well worth the money. You don't have to worry about getting a bad file here & killing your stb. Plus this is one of the friendliest & most helpfull sites on the net. Any more questions just ask away & somebody will help you out.
