Have DN500 twin lnb
What are the settings for CW600sv for a dish 500 twin lnb. Also the lnb have two possible connections do they both need to be connected to box or just one cable to get 110 and 119?
And I got a message on screen when I connected cable to box that said
"a short occured on the lnb connection" does this mean the lnb is no good I could not get a signal at all. THanks

no dp on back then use a switch and hook the line on left to port 1 and line on right to port 2
that is looking at lnb from behind the dish

Re: Have DN500 twin lnb
I assume that since you said twin that your LNB looks like the second one up above with the 2 eyes. If it does not have a DP on it anywhere then it is a Legacy twin not a DP Twin. The settings Cisco gave you up above are correct except for LNB type which will be Legacy Twin if your box has that setting or probably Standard if it does not.
You only need 1 cable down from the LNB for each receiver you have. The Diseq is in the LNB so both sats are on the same cable.

Re: Have DN500 twin lnb
I do have both LNB in this pics. the first one is a a legacy quad and the second one is a legacy twin, the first one needs a SW21 switch and be use for two receivers, the second one is for the new receivers that have an internal switch(two LNB entrance) even though u can use a SW21 switch if u have a one entrance LNB in the receiver.

Re: Have DN500 twin lnb
Make sure you power off your stb with switch on back before making connections otherwise you will burn out your switch.

Re: Have DN500 twin lnb
Elite has posted the correct settings for your box and a Legacy Twin so set it to that. ASG has a very good point about the staple. It is very likey if this is a new installation that you have a nail or staple somewhere going through the cable. Go back and inspect the cable closely.

Incorrect. The first one is not a legacy quad! It is a DUAL which some people confuse with a twin. The Dual requires an external switch. The Legacy Twin and Quad do not. The Legacy Quad looks just like the Legacy Twin except it has 4 ports at the bottom instead of 2 and can source 4 receivers without the need for external switches.
