Enough - ABA DSS

You know, for two years this hs gotton progressively worse. Everyone I know has abandoned FTA. This hit has been ignored based on the forums. how many time does it take to communicate the hits / freezing are not minor ? Down since Thurs with freezing. NADA, impossible to watch anything, period. It might as well be a black screen/ No news as to if anyone is working on the CW BIN and internet rumors that the "ECM" are actually timed outages by the coders, to force the end users back to their "supportive" web site. Is this true ? would anyone admit it anyway if it is ? This will be my last paid qtr, will go back to true , available programming ... every week, twice a week ... enough is enough.

sorry you feel that way. there are millions of fta enthusiasts that are happy.
the hobby hasnt changed in years, no tv has been minimal.
having 1 brand of receiver can be frustrating,just dont let it get the better of you.

Most FTA users have backup. You take the edge off if you do. I have an old big dish with just enough programming to fill in just fine. It's not that expensive. I'm thinking of adding programming for 3 months to get past the beginning of the new year ways to shake us off. Last year took until March to settle down. Was changing bins every 5 days. Wait until digital takes over for analog in February. Good ole rabbit ears won't work anymore as backup.

I don't know what kind of receiver you have but Pansats evidently ran out of memory. That was predicted. A fix was also predicted and that is to clear it out. There is a conversion bin out similar to Puff conversion that will clear the memory and set the unit back up for new bins. Blind scans and Channel Master is necessary first. Then we just download new bins as before.

Appreciate that .. was using both an Skyview rx-600 and CW 600 ... rx-600 has been unable to load even though it goes to boot mode just fine. I've tried the factory bin and 1.4 loader ... it jyst wont do anything. have a request out in the forum for help on force load if possibe. CW, same as everyone else , down for 4 days with freezing up for 3 to 5 minutes after 1 minute of uptime ...before each freeze period. not sure what can be done besides a new bin , but im open for suggestions.

Thanks for supporting the site in the year you were a member here. what your doing is not fta, its using third party software to view encrypted programs...I'm sure whatever television provider you go with will be glad to have you.

If you are unhappy with your units performance, call your provider and lodge a complaint.

There is always something on FTA, that's why this is such a great hobby.

While I understand your frustration with your unit, if you are having such a rough time with it, ditch it and move on to a unit that can deliver the level of performance you are seeking.

What other type of receiver do you suggest. I currently have the CW 600 and would like some advice as to what other type of receiver works best ( during these times of crisis!!

It's true...it was good while it lasted. I don't think paying a $35 / month for legit dish is too bad. If you have a high definition TV you can get the dish HD bronze w/ local channels and DVR for $35. I usually don't even watch the PPV movies since I got the PS3, now if the movie isn't in blu-ray the quality just looks so poor, it's not worth it. With this you can watch most of your pgms in HD...much better quality than our box (CW600).

I think it may be better to think of it in reverse. Get the service as your primary and use the FTA for the occasional UFC fights or other "programs" that you enjoy as a backup.

The hobby comment still cracks me up.. what are some of your other hobbies, breaking and entering? :-)

I wouldn't bother...it's not too bad. for every da Vinci Code nut there are 2 good moderators.

I had a problem w/ my CW-600s - the green screen issue - and one of the awesome moderators helped my right away. Trust me, there are some really good ones here....

yeahp basic cable for $30 a month. And connect your tv to the web and watch all the movies you want for free.
So who's the one messing up taking so long to get the new fix, wwwwhhhhhhyyyyy so many days??????? Come on guys $20 a month x thousands of subscribers$$$$$$$$$, you tell me should we look for something else??????

hey guys.,.,.you seem to be forgetting that this is FTA.,.,you want files to watch encrypted signals for free.,.,do you have true fta as a back up?.,.,are you using the CW600 stb as it was intended?.,.,I don't think so.,.,therefore I don't think there is much to gripe about.,.,besides, the cw600 is a very old stb and is obsolete.,.,get yourself an nFusion if you want more up time(just my opinion).,give the mods and site helpers a break and don't take it out on them.,it's not their fault.,.,remember FTA is a hobby not a service!.,.,and your subcription to this site is money well spent for info and help.,.,
