Help please box err all info gone! 0000 - ABA DSS

Hello Everyone, i hope someone out there can help me as i have no clue what to do here.
Everything was fine until i got up this morning and the box says err and 0000, when i look at my menu, everything is gone, no channels at all.
this is the second time this has happened in a month or so.
The first time we took it to someone and he fixed it for me for a fee, but i have no clue what he did, and i want to learn myself if someone can help, i think i know how to reset to factory default, but i don't know how to get it back up as i am usually guided over the phone and it was impossible to remember!!
Please help, i need my tv! ARGH

Reboot the unit from the rear switch and see if that gets rid of the 0000.
Then we'll move on to other measures.

Hello and welcome. You can try an autoscan first, it is likely in the antenna settings somewhere. If you can't autoscan then we will likely have to redo all your antenna settings as well, it all depends on how much of your settings where erased.

i flicked the switch, waited 5 secs, turn back on and it goes to 0000 and then err

There is a possibility you might have to load a factory file with the cable, loader pgm and your computer.

Can you tell if your antenna settings got wiped as well?

Hello, i am not too sure how to check these settings, i think i know how to get to the section on the menu that says antenna settings, but thats it, what setting should it be, im on DN 110 i have all the cables i think you use them to upload new bins?

Try going into antenna settings and autoscan 110, if the channels come in good if not we will have to go through some other steps.

The satellite has changed it is not the same one i used before!!!

You should see a little popup screen that will tell you what sat you're pointing at what does it say?

When i go into scan it asks only fta settings yes or no

Try this for now, we might have to change things, if you know exactly what typed of dish and lnb's you have we can give you the exact settings you need, but if you don't we'll start with these. You may also still have to install the factory file.

Hello, thanks for helping me, do i not do a channel search like you asked before? fta channels yes or no?
Could you tell me how to put these in that is quoted, it is not on the screen, where is it? How do i get to the screen? I am really clueless, i haven't fixed one before, sorry

In antenna settings chose sat 110 which is the one you said you had enter the settings I gave you then autoscan and we'll see if it works for you. If it doesn't you will have to load the factory file then enter these settings. Search "all" channels.

when i press the antenna settings button, the satellite name is 11c_amc7(137W)
i canoot change it to any other satellite name except for 12c,13c,14c and 15c
there are 2 rows of dots at the bottom page quality and strength the strength is around 63 and the quality is 0.
I am wondering if the wind moved the satellite because i think i remember that to switch to dn i had to move the satellite until it picked up 110w and the quality and strenth were very good. Could this be the reason i cannot change the satellite name except for what i said above because it is not pointed correctly now? Wierd

Ok, was just checking ... have you tried hitting f1 followed by 0000?

My thinking is/was perhaps your patch became disabled.

thanks, i will try it, will it still work even though all the satellite name stuff i mentioned3 posts above is all messed up?
