I think I've posted twice but...
Help!!!!
Downloaded the new bin for CW600S and now the box won't boot up....is there something wrong with the bin? I can't even get the loader to reload with it...but everything seemed to work normally when I was downloading....
I can barely get my menu up..it's all black and white and distored...I'm running a new search for channels to see but there seems to be something systemically wrong with the firmware...how do I reset?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Try loading the factory file followed by the current file, reenter your settings, scan your channels & enable the patch F1 000

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
That's the problem the box won't go into load mode...it goes to boot when it powers up and then the read out goes blank. ..no nothing no dashes. no line, nothing.
It's almost as though the bin file had a virus or something in it.
Also where is the factory file...have found one but the loaders doesn't recognize it. - says it's not software but its; showing as a bin file

Do you have a 600s or a 600 premium?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
600S....loading craps out after three or four percent...and I get an error message..what I want to do is do a hard reset or something...and reinstall from scratch...I found some documentation but when I try to follow it it doesn't work.
There's another posted on the CW forum having the same issue but he seems to have resolved it.

Try loading this factory file http://www.abadss.com/forum/169-cw60...ctory-bin.html Are you using a usb adapter?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Already tried that file...craps out with an error message....like I said the root of the issue seems to be in the latest bin file but only me and another poster at CW are reporting issues....
The 1.05 loader craps out and the 1.06 doesn't recognize it...
So I'm stuck between a rock and hard place...how do you access the internal reboot or would that wipe out the clone data?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Try going into menu, installation, factory default, select all & try doing this 3 times.

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
This started when you loaded the 2.27 bin?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
It happened when I loaded the 2.30 bin
hmmm this is interesting when I track back I'm like 99.999999% sure I downloaded from 600s...but there's a 2.30PV bin in my file...I've just grabbed the 2.27...I'll try that...of course now I may have scrambled the firmware to the point of complete failure.
well still craps out after 5% and I tried resetting three times to no avail

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Hey bro sounds like you loaded the wrong bin there..you said you have a cw 600s and loaded the 2.30 bin. That bins for the cw 600p. the 2.27 bin is the new one for the cw600s

You will have to get the factory file in to get it straightned out. try this link.

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
I did all that...(I found that revive dead box posting last night) but it stalls early into the load and posts up an error message.
I turn on the STB and hold down the on'off to get to BOOT
I select 1.05 loader
I loaded CW Kround 1.13 Capitveworks-25-05-2006.bin
I counts down to 1699 and at 12% loaded, freezes and then after 30 seconds or so reads F000
(Each time I try this it hangs at a different stage and sometimes the message is E010)
There's obviously a firmware issue...how do you get it to flash-erase itself?
Let's assume the wrong bin file was downloaded. What's the fix?
UPDATE: the STB says
CX.Kround
HW v1.00
SW Ver 2.30
Loader 2.50
14.05.2009
So it appears I grabbed the wrong file.
So NOW WHAT????????????????

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Having a thought after scanning the Web for clues...the most common suggestion is indeed reinstalling the factory bin....however, I've been using a USB to Serial adapter and booting from --:--
In this case I'm booting from BOOT and there was some discussion I picked up that you can't go USB-Serial that you have to go serial straight on a BOOT load...
Unfortunately I don;t have a serial port on my new computer so I will have to drag the STB to my son's room and use his....
We'll see if this resolves anything..
Otherwise is there a way to flash out the memory by opening the box and doing something inside or turning on the power and holding down a sequence of buttons?

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
No the only way to properly load a factory file is to load using the serial cable.

Re: I think I've posted twice but...
Yeah, that's what I'm going to do...I bought a serial-USB adapter that I've been using since I go the new PC but I gave him my old box ...he's gone to school for the day so I'm just about to unplug the STB and give that a try...
