CW600S Premium wont go into standby
Hello,
I am trying to load a bin to my 600S premium using a 9-pin and a usb adapter. However, the box wont go into standby. I turned off the box from the back, turned it on from the back, waited for 0000 and pressed power in the front but it just continues to power on, does not go into standby.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

Try doing a Factory Default first then turn your box OFF and ON again and when you see 0000,press the front power button. This will set you in Stand By mode.

Re: CW600S Premium wont go into standby
Thanks steele26, but it does not load when i do it with the clock on. I really don't want to do a factory default because I will lose all my settings. Is there any other way?

Re: CW600S Premium wont go into standby
Here is the right procedure to get it in standby:
1.Turn off STB using the back switch.
2.Unhook the LNB IN Coax Cable
3.Turn the STB on using the back switch.
4.Wait for the channel number to show up on the display and then press the Power button on the front panel.
This will get you --:--
Hope this help

No. USB-to-Serial cables work great, but only in standby mode, not in boot.

That's right.
When using USB-to-Serial + Rs-232, ONLY STANDBY
When using RS-232 alone you can use both modes

Re: CW600S Premium wont go into standby
Do a factory reset and make sure you know your settings (write them down if you have to) Load 1.06 and bin 1.64. Make sure the box is off at the back before you connect your null and usb cable. when you turn the box on depending on how you shut it off...it will show 0000 after a factory reset. Push power button intil it gets too --:--, might take a few times, then set your com port and click start. I use a usb to serial, what kind of usb cable are you using ? when you are using a usb to serial you still the null modem cable that came with the receiver also. USB into computer, then serial end to null cable and then null end into receiver. when it says end after loading turn it off at the back and setup everything again. Its quick once you learn how to do it.

Re: CW600S Premium wont go into standby
that happends to me yesterday, and I fixed it by unplgging the recvier from the power outlet, then I let the reciver cool down for about 15min and I plug it back in and the freexing stoped, and if that dident fix your problem, load the factory bin and your problem should be fixed

Re: CW600S Premium wont go into standby
All you have to do is use the power button on the remote, no need to do a factory default. Just let it power all the way up & then hit the button, you may have to hit it a few times but it will work.
