USB connector
Hi everyone,
I want to use USB connector to download the fix to my Captive works (CW600 Premium) and I want to have the loader and the procedure to do that. please note that I am currently using the traditional way.

Re: USB connector
Sure you can get a USB-to-Serial cable, and use the same Loader to load the bins. These cables run for about $20, but when you get one make sure that it comes with the drivers disk, and some are not supported by Vista, so check the OS requirements. And the only supported method for loading bins using the USB-to-serial cable is standby mode "--:--".
Here is how they look like:
Good luck

I would really appreciate it if you tell me the steps to download a bin using USB connector.
I have already purchased one looks exactly same the one you shown in your reply. After installing it using the accompanying CD, I tried to use same loader but nothing has been changed. So, any information might be of help.
Regards

Take a look at this, just use the USB connector instead of the null modem cable...

c/p -> thanks to tomcat01
just a note alot of people just hook up the adapter only make sure you install the driver first then plug in the adapter it will find it and you will see installing new driver inthe bottom left corner then hook up the (null) the to the reciever .. now go to my computer tight click go to properties and click then hardware then devices or device manager the go down to ports hit the + sign and you will see usb to serail there look and see what port it is using then close all up and the open loader you are using and match up the port to it .. tools then configuration and match the com port up and then close loader to open back up if you don't get a com error you are ready to go ...

Re: USB connector
Are you saying that you don't need to hook your null cable to the usb cable? You hook the usb cable direct from your computer to the receiver? Is this also the case for other receivers that use the rs232 cable?

right.its ideal to NOT use a usb adapter is your pc has the 9 pin serial port.
just most modern pc now do not have the serial port.
personally.i wouldn't mess with usb adapters.i would buy a pci card with the 9 pin serial port for 20 bucks and have the port.simple.done.
they slide right in like a dial up modem for example.
of course now,its advised to simply buy the cw 700 so you can load via usb.thats the way to go now.
but of course those who have premiums need to be able to do something.
now it looks like they are coming out with a serial port stick!
that looks interesting!
