Can't get into boot or standby mode
What do you do when your stb won't go into boot mode or standby mode.
Boot - When trying to put into boot mode, after powering up from the rear while holding down the power button on the front & releasing the power button after the word "boot" comes up, the LCD displays boot, then 123, then all zeros (0000). And that's where it remains.
Standby - after pressing the power button after the flasing 8's come up, the stb goes to all zeros (0000) as well. For a while instead of going to all zeros, it would go to a channel number. But I did a factory default and now it goes to the zeros.
Please advise

Re: Can't get into boot or standby mode
you know,iv always read the guides that say it must read "boot" or "-:-" =standby.
all ya have to do is turn it off with remote,so it reads the time.that standby works also.
dunno why the guides written say it must read one of those methods.
try it.works for me.
but,to answer your question.seems your front power button may have stopped working.
you can always save your list to the stb.
factory default-all.
then you can get it to display "-:-" standby method easily also.

Just the one that I was looking for, thanks for the quick response. Are you saying to just try to go ahead and load it although it doesn't show "boot" or "--:--".
If so then I tried that as well but nothing. I've been searching the site but can't find anything on this yet.

Re: Can't get into boot or standby mode
Thanks for all the quick responses, I got it working now.
All I did was to hit the power button on the remote, while the (0000) was displaying, a few times until it came up (--:--).
