loader problems with vista
am I the only one having this problem when i try to load the latest bins onto my reciever i use the upgrade v1.06 loader and I have the reciever set to "--:--" as instructed I have also tried having it on the clock as well when it was shut down. My laptop is running windows vista home premium now most often not all the time while I am loading the bin file to the reciever my laptop will crash and reboot. This only happens when I am trying to load a bin file it has never done this at any other time. if i diconect the reciever and take it to my desktop pc with windows xp i have no problems, i am just wondering is this a vista problem and is happening to everybody with vista or what am I doing wrong

I bought a usb adaptor because my laptop doesn't have rs232 connection on it. and because of the fact that it was easier to bring the laptop to the reciever then the reciever to the computer that did have the rs232 connection but yes I am using a USB adaptor

Re: loader problems with vista
HI i was having the same issue with mine i was unsing the rs-232 on my comp but theni decided it would be less troubles to bring my laptop to the box i found this info on a other website and it work for me
Go to Device Manager and Ports and see what Com your USB cable is set to.
- The Advance button will allow you to change the port. Change it to 1, 2, 3 or 4.
- Also be sure to change the Baud (Bits per second) to 115200.
#4. When using a loader from your specific reciever, make sure the COM port selected on the loader corresponds to the com port you changed in the previous step.
#5. Load your file.
I selected com port one. When I program my box I always plug everything in before putting the box in standby mode and unplug the coax from the lnb in( if i put the box in stanby mode before i plug in the usb it freeses up my laptop if i dont unplug the coax its shows error on the box). Windows recognises my fta box as usb-serial ch340 (com1) and then I just put in the new bin with the loader
