USB to Serial adapter issue
Hi there, I have a Captive works 600p. I recently got a new computer with Vista on it. There is no serial port for the null modem cable. Purchased a Belkin USB/ Serial Portable Adapter. Successfully loaded the latest Vista Driver and the adapter is working. But when I try to load a bin the progress bar does not move. I have checked the Baud rate 115200, set com port to #1. nothing seems to work. Any help appreciated

Re: USB to Serial adapter issue
Try using com 4 or 5 in the loader pgm. It might be 1,2,3,6,7 etc but 4 or 5 is most common.

Re: USB to Serial adapter issue
yes I had a similar problem and my com port was different with my usb to serial i had to use com 4 here, one way of finding out is to go into your control panel and see what com port your comp has used to designate for that particular usb com port good luck and welcome to ABA

Re: USB to Serial adapter issue
I have the right cable , I have the com port set to #1, but the progress bar stays at 0% and the stb display goes to 0001. Also after closing the loader I get a windows msg. that says "Upgrade MFC Application has stopped working".

Re: USB to Serial adapter issue
Have you tried changing the port in your loader program?

Re: USB to Serial adapter issue
Do as Bobo said, just keep trying different com ports till it accepts the file. Change the com port on the loader...
