Help in aiming dish

I currently have a CW 600s premium and am having trouble aiming the satalite to get a good quality and signal. the antenna settings I have set are as follows:

satellite name: 41Nimiq 1 (91W)
Transponder: 10964/v/19850/3/4
LNB freq: 11250
LNB type OCS-DP
22khz: off
Diesqc number: LNB3
legacy SW: off
no motorized system

I also tried various othersettings that coincide with the Echostar 6,8 110s that was listed in the step by step setup guide but was unable to find any signal at all. Im just wondering if these settings i have are correct? any tips on how aim my satalite so I can recive a signal. I have been simply systematically scanning the sky to pick one up without luck. some assistance would be much appreatiated.

Hello & Welcome to Aba!!!!! All channels on nimiq 1 91W have gone to N3 so you won't be able to view any of these channels.

Re: Help in aiming dish

hey newfoundland iam also having trouble finding sat's, but the echostar's ,i believe we in newfoundland need to skew our dishes and point 110 or 119(directions are reverse on a compass), i came very close yesterday up to 75% but no quality. id suggest checking a satalite aming site, click your location on the map and the setting should be a start the wernt right on for me,but i think my skew angle reads oppisite angles its an old dish. also the sat echostar seem to be very low on the horrizon in comparrison to the nimiq's. let us know if u have any luck.

Re: Help in aiming dish

yes, your elevation is very low on the horizon, due to your northern location. also, your compass wouldn't be backwards, you'd be pointing about 245degrees, which isn't too extreme.
you will probably need a bigger dish to get 70+ quality

Re: Help in aiming dish

no luck finding 119 78%strenth 45% quality but sat isnt found, strange because 91 w and 82w both no good now will be found with less strenth and quality, getting fed up with constant scaning of sky, any suggestions on a moterized sat or the best place to purchace such a thing? dont know if it will make a difference but will save me a lot of time and effort.
