Re: Moved and having a hard time setting up dish

Have you tried an exact dish pointing tool, and have you looked into possibly needing a bigger dish ?

Re: Moved and having a hard time setting up dish

The dish I have I used it at the old house, I only moved a few miles north. I did try an exact dish pointing tool I found here on ABADss, but not sure if it applies to Mexico residents. When I entered my Zip code, it stated that that area code is from Ohio. Do you think I might need a bigger dish? I know a neighbor which has the same system but they are on vacation so I can not go check out where their dish is pointing.

On my TV screen it says I have satellite signal ("S") of 62 but on the Quality ("Q") it has none... I can't remember if it was like this when the system was on autoroll processing before or if it is just the dish is not pointed correctly.

Re: Moved and having a hard time setting up dish

Ok, the strength / level meter is the STB reading the LNB, where as the quality meter is the STB actually reading the satellite signal. So, sounds like your dish is not aimed right just yet. Give me your zip and I will get you the setup numbers...

Re: Moved and having a hard time setting up dish

This is what I come up with...
Azimuth- 227
Elev- 34
skew- 122
Let me know if these sound real, this is a north american pointing tool...

That's the one I came up with on the dish pointing tool also, but it states that the zip code is in Ohio. I tried it anyways and no such luck.

I don't know if this helps but in Guadalajara the Latitude is 22 and the Longitude is -103, at least thats what the dish pointer stated.

Let me ask you something. If the system is down and on autoroll, the quality will be zero.. correct?

No, auto roll is just the STB looking for new keys...

Re: Moved and having a hard time setting up dish

Try to aim for 119 first and then skew to get 110. My sat calcs only get N. America...I will continue to search on this one...
