First time defaulting .... please - ABA DSS

Hi guys .. hate to bug you on a 'fix' night .. BUT
I'm trying my first default because I can't get the EPG to fill.
I've read & re-read instructions.. then read again .. think I got it understood - mostly?! (I have all sat info written down as instructed)

My question is .. which factory file should I use - there are several posted - the 'virgin factory file' or the 'newest' platinum factory file?
And besides the newest bin, are there any others I should load?

It's a bit confusing with so many to choose from..
any & all info appreciated,

I always use the newest file out, it has the latest info. post back if you need more help.

Thank you tnp ... just needed to make sure I used the correct one.

The virgin factory file must be for a brand new never programmed box? (rhetorical question) - which is also confusing since the default is supposed to make it like new ...lol

here goes ...cross my fingers ...hold my breath.....

OH MY ... what am I missing?
Since my box is a VS2000, after the default...
I loaded the V0278 & the latest bin (hard booting after each download)
I hooked back up to tv but couldn't get the menu to come up to reprogram SAT info - what am I missing?

Thank you for checkin in and asking spyder....
I saved both factory file & virgin factory file to desktop ..just wasnt sure which to use ..there is so much stuff in the 'virgin file'.
The sat info I can add manually right? same with the ch?

if could I just use the v0278 then I would be happy.

woohoo ... I survived my first default and so did my viewsat!!

up & running w/ EPG intact which is why I did default in the first place - I didnt have a guide.

Thank you all so much for the info posted here & throughout the site. It made me a much braver person!
