Is there any way to make a viewsat platnium lite into a usb flash and not have to worry about any cables

best bet is to upgrade to a newer receiver if you want USB capability. takes 5 seconds instead of few minutes to load. its quicker thats all. if you have extra cash and want to do that go for it its not a requirement.

if i do upgrade to usb all i have to do is hook up the newer model and not have to hassle trying to program it,that would be great if all i had to do is hook it up and turn it on

Sorry to say....Yes you will have to set up your new stb again but your light will still be there for another t.v.....Never will be able to load through usb though.

If your staying with vs, ultra is a tried and true model equipped with the usb loading.

Can`t go wrong with it. Just my 2 bits of coarse.
