How to Load FILES AND SET -UP VS
1 Make sure VS is turned off by back switch
2 Connect a NULL MODEM cable between the ViewSat and your PC.
3 Open "Loader2
4 Click "Open Files"
4 Browse to directory holding “ViewsatUSA_.PGM” file , Click on "ViewsatUSA_.pgm files ", Click "OPEN"
6 Click PC-->STB on your computer screen; then Power “ON” your ViewSat by ON/OFF switch . You should see the File loading properly.
WARNING: DO NOT POWER VIEWSAT OFF UNTIL TOLD!
When file transfer is completed, the Front Panel will display:
"inst" for 15 seconds while the software is being installed
"DONE" for 10 seconds while the ViewSat does housekeeping chores
Next, the ViewSat automatically REBOOTs
" on " will be displayed and when the reboot is complete, "0000"
You may NOW turn "OFF" the ViewSat and connect it to your TV and satellite dish cable.
the attached file will walk you through step by step + pics.

where can i get loader2. is it a free download???

Less than 10 bucks for the wealth of info and dl's you get is a drop in the bucket. If you can afford to buy the receiver ? Than you can afford the support, Knowing what and how is 1/2 the fight.

I have connected a NULL modem that I use to program other receivers but I cannot get the Loader program to talk to my Viewsat Extreme at all. I have tried all the COM port settings, none work.
Any suggestions  |

I'm new guys but learn fast. I find your forum well explained. I just need to know does the viewsat box have to be attached to the TV while downloads? I also need to know where to get that Null cable. The guy that sold us our stuff didn't give us the cable he always did the downloads SURPRISE he has left without a notice so here we hang.

you can buy on EBAY or in the Radio Shack. Yup you need NULL cable to download files. You dont need to connect to TV. Just the PC and your Receiver.
