frame error
a friend of mine has a plat and a pc laptop that he bought in 2001. I loaded the loader 2 program and winrar for him. everything works except the loader, when you click pc-stb all you get is frame error and a bunch of zeroes. I read the solution here somewhere but I cant find it now and I just cant seem to get it to do anything else.
am I missing something obvious?
does the loader 1 work better with older laptops?
I have configured the loader properly, I am just missing something...
thanks guys, tnp12

Re: frame error
That error is usually caused by a bad null cable or a corrupt version of the loader file.
Get a fresh version of the loader, then eliminate that element, then move to the null cable in the event that you are still having problems.

Re: frame error
Are you sure you are selecting PC --STB and not selecting STB -- PC by mistake?

Re: frame error
Have you tried the boot-loop fix utility ... that will likely solve your problem.

Re: frame error
well I tried a new loader, and tried another but I still get the same frame error and it flashes quickly to resending zrqinit. this leads me to believe i have left something out.
if someone could provide a list or link telling me what I need to run loader 2 and the usb-serial cable I could double check myself.
the cables work fine, I use them to load the files with my own pc.

Re: frame error
i know that you know the steps but if you see them you might recognize a step you are forgetting
stb off by back switch
attach cable
open loader
apply bin
hit pc-> stb button
turn on back switch

Re: frame error
you got er buddy, I have tried it about a hundred times by now, surely I would have got it right by now!
the problem is it says frame error whether I turn on the stb or not, its like the cable is bad... but I know its not, so it has to be a problem with the loader itself but I have tried several. so now Im thinking some info the loader needs has to be missing.
wouls a laptop bought in 2001 work better with the loader1 program?
