fix for dead viewsats (please read before flashing)
try this i cannot take credit for it but it is good...
thanks fraytv
I have had three incidents, when a receiver failed.
In my case, two were different user errors, and one was a file that got currupted.
Here is how I fixed all three.
First, just in case you got a file corrupted, download and extract all of these to a new folder.
Loader 2;
Virgin Plat files;
Factory File;
060923 pgm ;
Satinfo;
Now, transfer the virgin file pack to your receiver, selecting all 3 and transfering all three at the same time. (it should also be OK to use the new .satinfo file here in place of the original. I just never have.)
Allow the receiver to reboot.
Turn it back off.
Then transfer the Factory and allow it to reboot.
Now transfer the new .pgm file.
Remember, the new pgm files have an extra step involved.
When finished it will say END, then 0000, then boot, then END, then back to last channel or 0000. You must wait till this process finishes before turning it off and unplugging.
Now transfer the .satinfo file and allow it to reboot. (unless you loaded it with the Virgin pack.)
(It will probably just go though the old reboot cycle after this file.)
Now you are ready to hook it back up to your TV, check your Options to see Auto TP and Auto Roll are on, etc, put your time adjustment back in and re-do your LNB/switch settings in Antenna Set-up.
Just set up and F1 scan the LNBs one at a time as you go.

How do you load a dead unit?
There is no power on the dead units...Tried to load from good units and also from loader2 pgm. It will not make the dead units power come on in order to run any programs or install any software...Any ideas?

As well, all 3 were from the same Dealer as other 32 that were flashed with no problem.

Re: fix for dead viewsats (please read before flashing)
I have a Platinum that has had problems for over a year now.
I can get it to work but only for awhile sometimes an hour other times it last a week.
what happens is it will start rebooting itself over and over, so mush that you can't even access the menu.
I've tried the boot repair file with no luck.
I usually will put a factory file on, which allows me to access menu - do a factory default- then load latest fix- But this never has worked for very long.
I just did what this thread suggest and I will report back to let you know if it stay working.
Thanks for the info.
