Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
Okay, so this problem has been occuring for a while now. The only channel that works for me is TBS (#139) and some other channels.
I don't think it is the where the dish is pointing because when it was installed it was fine, and it has never moved after.
Could someone please help me with this problem? If you can thank you for taking the time to do so

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
Hello and welcome. You might have a problem with switches, lnbs, cables, wrong antenna settings, and yes the dish can get moved by the wind, animals, and bolts do work loose from time to time.

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
Basically start with the easiest things first then one by one try and eliminate possibilities. Are you only pointing at one sat or two?

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
2 Satellites, one is for English channels, and other is for Inernational channels (600-800)
Most of the channels from 600-800 work fine, but the others do not.

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
The Indian channels and all other international channels most likely won't work on any make or model receiver. Do you know what sat numbers your pointing at like 119 etc?

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
Yeah, here is the info.
Satellite - Echostar 7 119.0 W
LNB - ON
LNB Type - Legacy Quad LNB1
LNB Freq. - 11250
22kHz - ON
TP Freq. - 12224
Diseqc 1.0 - Port 3
Motor - Off
Legacy SW - None
Oh yeah and also the thing it, the channels that do not work sometimes work at random times during the day but for the most part they stay off.

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
Ok it maybe this is the time of the year when some people experience sun fade, or it might be your dish is off slightly. Have someone push gently on the dish in all directions and see if you get changes in your signal strength (Q) and if you do you might need to do some tweaking.

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem
here are some common problems:
signal and quality issues
if you are having problems with signal or quality try these steps:
* do a hard reboot with the switch on back.
* make sure you have the right sat selected in your antenna settings.
* check your antenna settings to be sure they are correct.
* check all your connections including the switch to be sure they are tight and working.
* if your quality is low or 0 you may need to align your dish.
* make sure you have the latest bin file.
* try different lnb types to be sure you have the right one.
* before moving, changing, or disconnecting any cables turn your stb off with the
switch on back.

A legacy quad has a switch in it. You can't hook it up to a diseqc switch. You should be using the bottom "legacy sw" as your switch. It's been a long time since I worked with 1 of them, but start there to fix your problem.

Re: Viewsat Extreme, NO SIGNAL Problem

Thanks to all who helped, I solved the problem by adjusting the settings and the dish angle.
