No signal after new fix
Hi all,
Please let me know what I did wrong: I donloaded the new bin. No signal. The screen says: no channel. I did an autoscan, and the S signal is 0, and no channel came up.
What do I have to do to get the signal?
Thanks

Re: No signal after new fix
I always did the same thing. It seems something is not there this time. There are 2 signal bars at the right bottom of the screen. The right bar (Q) says 100%, the left bar (S) says 0.
What else should I check?
Thanks

Re: No signal after new fix
That is normal on Echo 7 change your TP to 12239 to see Quality.
If you did a Fatcory Default, you will have to setup your sats again and scan channels.

Tried it, but still no signal. Could it be the dish moved somehow?
Thanks

Anyone ever had this problem?
Maybe I didn't download this correctly?

Re: No signal after new fix
Sorry, when your S meter is at 0 basically means you have no connection to the LNB.
Check your connections on the back. Your line in from the LNB is connected the top right when you are looking at the back. From the front, it is the top left port.
If it is connected properly, you could have burned out a port on the DiSEqC switch. You have to power OFF the receiver from the rear power switch before you remove the cable coming in from the satellites. Check the other satellite to see if you have an S meter reading. If that is the case, power OFF the receiver, go out and put that satellite to a different port on the switch, and change that one in your settings. Usually, it is port 1 on the DiSEqC switch that gets it when you do this.

Re: No signal after new fix
To Woodcreeker:
I was away for the last 3 days, just get back
I think I will try that, maybe the LNB now is broken. The only question I have is this: on the tv screen, at the right, the meter on the right (Q) says 100%, and the meter on the left (S) says 0%. what does this mean.
I don't know much about this stuff. It has been working great without any problem until now, so I have no idea how to fix this.
Thanks

Re: No signal after new fix
S= strength
Q= quality
I was unaware you could have a good quality signal without any strength. Some diseqcs are really crappy and do not last. Switch the problem satellite cable into the open port on the diseqc.... that is, if you are using ports 1, 2, and 3, put the problem cable into port 4. You will then have to reset the settings for that particular satellite-- ie. port 4 on the diseqc setting.
An easy was to test a diseqc is to see if the signal comes through when you have the lnb connected directly to the box... that is do not run it through the diseqc. The settings for the particular satellite will have to be changed: diseqc- none.

Re: No signal after new fix
Bad Bin has nothing to do with signal strength...Check NASA channel for confirmation of that---Sounds like a hardware/connection problem---as previous stated, you can illiminate the switch in case it is causing problem.
