bad signal on some tps

Hello. This is my first post on this site however I am not new to fta & have been testing for a couple of years now.

I have an extreme with two dishes 1 pointed to 91 & the other to 119. My switch is the heavy duty chieta switch. I have been using this setup with no problems for approx. 8 months until a couple of weeks ago. I am running file 07/12/26.

My 91 is in port 1 & works fine. Good signal all the time & no problems with any tp. 119 is a different story though.

119 worked fine as well until a few weeks ago. I do not get any signal(quality) on tps 12282, 12311 & 12341. Also sometimes I can pick up the other tps fine & sometimes not. It is very erratic sometimes it is one tp & then another. When I cannot pick one up I still get good quailty but it says I am picking up 91 instead of 119. I change the channel & then change it back & 119 comes back. I surf through more channels & it works fine then once again I come to a channel that shows 91 instead of 119. Again I change the channel & then change it back & it works again. It does this in the attenna setup menu as well. When I surf through the tp frequency's sometimes they come up as 91. I change to another tp & back & 119 comes back.

My first though was I have a bad connection somewhere. I have checked all my connections from the dish to the switch, from the switch to the tv & they are all good & tight. I have an extra lnb so I changed that & it seemed to work fine for a couple of days & then it started doing it again. I have replaced all my cable with new. I have tried connecting my 119 cable to different ports in the switch & it still does it.

I don't know what to do next. I am at the point where I am going to beat something lol.

Re: bad signal on some tps

hey simone i have the exact same problem you have i have tried every thing you tried and more, and it still acts up. mine seens to work a little better if i bypass the switch and hook it into my receiver, but it still dosent fix it.
I noticed that there are many forms listing the same problems with 119 and they are all diffrent receivers!!! like you said we checked everything and the signal still goes eratic
anyone else have this problem!!!

Re: bad signal on some tps

Similar problem here.
I have 82+91 on a 20" dish and 110+118.7/119 on a 33" to CW600p & CS7000 thru 2-4x1diseqc switches. 82 and 91 kept loosing quality to 0% and then suddenly came back with normal 80+% again. I suspected it's the "strong" signal from 118.7/119 LNB that dominated over the other LNBs.
I disconnected the 118.7/119 LNB leaving only 82,91,110 go thru the 4x1 diseqc switches and everything were back to normal.
Not sure whether my thought is right or something wrong with the signals from the 118.7/119 sats.
Need more inputs from other testers having the same problem.
