Quality Issue
I'm seeking any suggestions on a Quality issue I'm having with my Viewsat Extremes. Recently I've noticed my signal is around 75-80 and my Quality goes from 25 to 80 depending on what channel I'm on. With my old Panasat 2500 and 2700 I would just change transponders but I can't seem to locate how to do this on my Viewsat so I'm not sure if this is even the issue as Viewsat is still pretty new to me. I've searched and read many differnet senerios on Quality issues but never one like this. When I'm in my Antenna settings screen both Signal and Quality show 70- 80%...only when i start flipping channels does the Quality drop ( depending on the channel)......Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Quality Issue
You didn't say if you were getting a picture or not so I assume you are not. It is normal to have signals go up and down as you move through TP's. If channels and picture quality are affected then chances are your dish is off slightly. Tweak your dish while on a stronger steady TP then rescan the bird. That should do it

Re: Quality Issue
In my experience anything below 60 isn't that great and may effect picture quality.

Re: Quality Issue
I'm getting picture but it's pixelating in the higher channels. Example: on my local channels I get in the high 80s for signal and quality. When I get to the higher channels the signal remains strong but the quality drops to 30-40. When I'm the antenna setup screen I get high 80s in quality and signal. I've been researching for a few more hours and found some references to potential LNB issues with this type of symptom.....LNB is about 5 years old....what do you think? Was never a issue in the past....doubt the dish moved at all...it's in a pretty stable place...not saying it couldn't but becauseI'm getting good signal and quality on the lower channels leads me away from alignment.

Re: Quality Issue
If you are running a Desq Switch, maybe that is where the problem is. They are cheap (inexpensive) and can cause issues just like that which you are describing.

Re: Quality Issue
No switches...straight connection to the LNB. Running two receivers off the LNB, one from each side, RG6 ....been great for years until now... It's the low quality on some channels that's confusing me. I would think my quality would be low on all channels with a LNB problem..not just the higher channels.
