Cannot get TSN or a signal > 61% on transponder 11 BEV

Appreciate any suggestions to attack my problem:

I cannot get TSN for the life of me. I'm running BEV on a 18 inch dish, and when I try to get a better signal (use a BEV receiver set to transponder 11 to measure signal) I max out at 61%, no matter how much I mess around with the dish.

I was wondering if upgrading to a 24 inch dish may help with signal strength, or moving to a different position on my roof (no obstructions appear to be in the way)? I'm assuming my dish's weak signal strength is why I cannot get TSN (channel 2401), but I am unsure.

Thanks..

you may want to go with a bigger sized dish. don't think moving it is going to help if nothing is obstructing it

Re: Cannot get TSN or a signal > 61% on transponder 11 BEV

forget about the b3v receiver, the quality shows different on that, hook up just your fta receiver and make sure the sat you are looking for is listed in the top right corner. go out and align your dish until you get a quality of at least 60 -70%.
above that if you can get it. then do an autoscan for your channels and if your settings are correct you should be good. these settings should work:

antenna settings
press menu- installation- pin code- antenna setup
sattelite echostar 7 (for example)
lnb power - on
lnb type - universal ( some may use standard or osc-dp)
lnb high - 11250
lnb low - 9750
tp freq - 12224
diseqc 1.0 - port (depends on where the cables are on the switch. use none if you only have one dish and lnb) suggested setting, echostar 7(119) port 1, echostar 8,10(110) port 2, nimic 1(91) port 3.
motor - off
legacy sw - none

hey bud, try another autoscan when the quality is real good and read this (especially the hijacking part).

Re: Cannot get TSN or a signal > 61% on transponder 11 BEV

actually, using a bev receiver to get the best possible signal is the right thing to do. not to disagree with tnp12 but you will get the best possible sig with the bev receiver. it might not be as high on the fta but it will be the best it will get. and yes, a bigger dish will help a lot. I'd go with the 33".

your right zoo, I said it wrong is all. I has 100% with my b3v receiver but the fta said 76%. it just displays different is all.

Re: Cannot get TSN or a signal > 61% on transponder 11 BEV

no harm done. just wanted the guy to know it's OK to use his bev receiver to find the bev sat.
Shane uses his that way and also for 110 and 119. it's just less chance of hitting the wrong sat. you know, if your not paying attention to the top right of antenna settings while tuning.
