Viewsat Xtreme-black screen!!!!
I have a viewsat Xtreme which was working fime up until 8:00 pm Eastern time, the screen went black and my box has 0000 on the front , i have no control on/off, change channel.... no menu, nothing!!!!!, the only thing working is on /off in the back of the box, any idea what happen, or what i can do to fix it!!!!!

have you tried reloading the bin ?

no Luck!!!! i tried factory bin even... it will load it but same result afterwards!!!

make sure your viewsat is not a clone.

One way to see if its a clone or genuine is by looking at the serial port . if it has a notch connector jsut like the pansat 2500 .. you got the FAKE the Genuine viewsat extreme han no anchor between the RS232 port im gonna try to upload some pictures later on.. some site reported this bugs on clone viewsat.. "So buyer beware!!!"

i hope it's not clone, i got mine from official Viewsat distributor!!!!
it was working fine for a couple of weeks, then when i was changing channel.// last/ok...... it flashed and went to 0000... no picture

If it's a clone the ON/OFF switch would be sideways not up and down.
Make sure your remote is on STB and try to turn it on manually from the front panel of the receiver.

I`m not real familiar with the viewsat yet, but I know mine is working....watched race just fine. Wish I could help you.
Carpenter1 is real good with viewsat stuff !!!!!

I have u tried to unplug the box and plug it back in. do u have sat signal or cant u get anything to work. try to load factory bin 3 times then current vs bin. Its worth a try!

i did unplug it, and i did load the factory bin twice... none worked, i will do three times and i hope it will work... thanks

if nothing works at all as you mentioned.. I believe that you have tried everything that is to it.. Sorry cant help you on that. After all the advice that we given and still no go I believed that somehow the unit got surged. its uncommon but it happened before with my fortect ultra bad spike on the voltage line. Also LNB can fry your box if theres a short somewhere in the coax or lots of factors... If you have warranty on the box thats your last hope....
