open port
can't download on vista-message says port doesn't open--what is solution

Are you trying to load the file on your STB, and you are getting message, port doesn't open???

yes,at the point when it is PC TO STB
the message says --can't start timer-com port not open

com port 3 or 4 is most common but try them all until you dont see the message anymore. use the same port every time after you get it working.

Go to control panel; Select Device manager; Double click on "Ports (COM & LPT); You should see your serial port along with COM number being used (Example: COM6).. Set loader, under options, with the appropriate port number. Good luck
