This does not mean that there will no longer be the customary fixes for the PVR.
There is a pdf file that goes with the fix and its states that the fix was supplied by
CompleteFTA The Future Starts Here. I've posted the problem on this site (it's free) and you guys may want to do the same (more power in numbers) so they're aware that this is not a minor issue for just a few.
