Just wanted to make another worthless suggestion.

Well, maybe 2 of them but since they both deal with so-called VIP members, I thought I'd put them both in the same suggestion.

1. A while back, this site had a meltdown with the influx of people wanting to know why dn was down or of it indeed was down, etc...

Anyhow, some of the longtime paying members and paying members in general were having problems loging on to this site.

So here is suggestion #1:

If that were to ever happen again, why not just grant access to paying members instead of just everybody. The point for everyone coming here at that time is to see if the new files are out already and since you have to pay to be able to download them, then why not just allow paying members to access that site at that time?


2. This deals with contests and giveaways, etc...

Again, I have noticed people talking about how they wish some paying members could win this time, etc..

Again, why not make contests for those that pay for this site which in turn help this site keep going along with those advertisers that are giving away their stuff.

If the goal to the contests is to get more people on this site, well, it's probably working but if you have a goal to make paying members happier...not that we aren't happy..I did say happier, how about throwing paying members a bone every now and then?

I don't think it's fair for paying members to have only one vote more than those that don't pay as a matter of fact....I say non-paying members should either have no chance or just one chance in every contest while paying members get 3 or 4. Remember, we are paying 100% more than those that don't pay yet in the last contest we only got a 20% better chance of winning. I think it was 4 chances for non-paying members and 5 for those that do pay.


Heck, who knows...maybe this will get more members to pay for VIP serice.


Oh well, just a suggestion for us paying members...I'm sure others around here feel the same but just didn't want to "rock the boat" as someone else would say.

Cholito - for the first part of ur suggestion -yes there was a surge in dl during abt 4wks ago n ppl did experience some difficulty BUT since then d matter has been effectively addressed by the Admn..

and hav' not had any issue since d additional servers were commissioned to supplement d increased traffic n membership here...

For d other part 4d paying n non paying members that's d call I leave 2d appropriate personnel n I'm sure they will look in 2 that soon..

Well, regardless of the problem being fixed or not...I'm just saying for future references. We all know servers can have glitches from time to time and I don't know what the problem was the other night when Peggy couldn't use her regular account but that's just another example of how sometimes problems do happen.

As for the other part on the contests...it could be one a few differnt ways.

1. Eliminate all non paying mmbrs from the contest.

2. Use a formula to where the paying members get a certain amount of votes compared to those that don't pay. I'll give an example here:

Say the ratio of paying members to non-paying is 2-5....5 being the non-paying members.

Well then switch that around and give the paying members 5 chances and the non-paying only 2 chances, etc...

3. Paying members get 5 chances, non-paying always only get one.

Etc.....

Anyhow, they're just worhless suggestions but somebody's got to make them.

Just thought I'd bump this thread since it is getting lost.

One of these days...I might even get a reply from the big man himself....but I doubt it.

This is why I knew these were gonna be worthless suggestions....anything that is suggested is never taken seriously unless it is suggested by the very people that created this site and it's virtually the same for any site.


They might make excuses as to why your suggestions don't have any merit but never has anyone on any site taken a suggestion and actually put it in play.

I'm gonna have to reply to my own posts cause I know sooner or later someone is gonna tell me I have no right to say this or that but I am gonna tell them this story that actually happened to me in real life so they can see that I'm not as stupid as they think I am.

I mean come on, 57 views and only responses from 2 people.

Maybe this story will give others courage to speak their mind.

1. I am an American and I don't vote....don't think anyone other than Jesus and GOD are worthy of leading me or being my leader in anything.
2. I pay my taxes just like everyone else.
3. One day...I had a problem around my yard and on county property. They made new roads bout they eliminated some of the drainage ditches but on the corner of my property, they left a hole where the drainage used to be and since they covered the pipe that ran underneath my driveway...it rendered that hole useless and made it into a mosquito haven.
4. I told the county workers of my problem and they told me to tell the suprvisor. I told the supervisor and he told me to tell his worker and back and foth they had me. I finally got tired of their BS and wrote a letter that i was gonna give to my local newspaper. One day the worker told me, Cholito, you know why nobody is listening to you, he said it's cause you don't vote and these guys think you don't have a right to complain. I said Oh yeah, OK, you're right but if your stupid boss thinks I don't have the right to complain, you tell that SOB to tell the County to stop charging me taxes for my property. You see, I told him....votes don't pay that SOB's salary, the taxes we pay do. One day the supervisor is passing by my house and I told this guy to wait a couple minutes while I go inside my house, I print out of copy of my letter and the next day the County Commissioner goes by my house and asks me what's the problem. I show him the hole that is now nothing more than a mosquito haven and within 15 minutes, the worker I had originally asked to cover the hole comes by to cover the hole.

Moral of the story...when people pay, they have the right to say their part...and when you don't listen, sooner or later, you're going to have to....making excuses just lengthens the process..it never eliminates it.

If others on here think I am rocking the boat with what I have to say, then I say they're underestimating their own intelligence, let alone mine.

I'm not here to rock anyone's boat...I'm here speaking my mind and I was given the right to do so the day I paid for membership.

I'm actually disspointed more people didn't agree with atleast one of my two suggestions...but kudos to those that did.
