Firmware for the Fortec Lifetime Classic NA
Download and unzip files attached
1- Connect ird to power and turn it ON. Hook up null modem-cross over serial cable(pn 2-3, 3-2, 5-5) to PC and ird. Straight thru cable 92-2,3-3,5-5) wont work with this receiver
2- Open DnUpMan_NTSC_050408. In Firmare window, hit browse and find latest fix(ClassicNA_DN_BEV_ar_11jan06), select it
3- hit Download. Loader will search you COMPORT and start downloading. IMPORTANT-DO NOT INTERRPT THE PROCESS. Let it complete.
4- Now you have two option
Load someonelse's channel list or Scan your satellites
Load a channel list
- hit browse in the Channel data window.
- Select the channel list CDF you are going to use.
- Hit download. Do not interrupt the process.
- Turn OFF ird
- Connect ird to TV and Dish-Lnbs. Turn it ON
- Go to Satellite MENU and set you antenna switches as per you set up. Instruction are in your manual, but you can follow antenna set up instruction for other Fortec and Pansat models. exit
- Set defaul keys Go to
1-click MENU on the remote
2-right arrow to Channel Manager
3-down arrow to CODE
4-enter 1001
5-scroll to SET DEFAULT KEYS, hit oK. Exit
- tune a DN conus channel(example HBO) and wait 30-90 untill it grabs they key and video opens.
remember you may not get your locals channel, if you are not loacte in the same area of the channel list owner and you may need to scan your spotbeam transponders. you can use lio's Classic_Florida_DN_BEV_Hispasat list attached. it has DN channel line up, but it has Florida locals
SCAN SATs
- Turn OFF ird.
_ Connect ird to TV and Dish-LNBs.
- Go to satellite MENU and set you satelliet antennas as explained in you manual.Exit
- Go to Code Menu and set default keys as explained above. Exit
- Go to satellite MENU and select a sat. Scroll down and choose scan ALL ( not FTA)
- start scanning.
- Scan second sat is any and so on.
- Go to a DN conus channel (ex HBO) and wait 30-90 seconds until it grabs the keys and video open.
