any suggestions please - ABA DSS

my buddy,,has a sonicview 1000,, he got some file from who knows where,,and uploaded to his box,, well now its stuck on 8888,, i downloaded the loader,,the factory bin and the file cleaner,, it wont take a thing,,just sits there,, i happen to come across this here thread :

very last thread said it needs a tsop replacement,, i just was wondering if anyone can confirm this,,and if anyone has changed a tsop chip,,is it really as hard as it sounds like ? or should i just roll up my sleeves and jump in with both feet ? i live not far from calgary,,maybe someone can suggest a place to take it,,and get chip done,,b4 i permanently **** it up lol,,,,any input is appreciated,,thanks all !
i do have the new chip,,boy is it tiny

the loader just sits at zero,,and the box just sits at 8888 ,, ive tried starting the upload and then flipping on the box,,ive tried having the box on and start the download,,nothing,,,

Hi JBD, I'm trying to find something on that chip thing also you could call the 800 help line for sv for ambiguous question about that code...lol

Also, did your friend turn off the rocker switch on the back before disconnecting from all the cables? I know how frustrating that is. I'll let you know if I find out anything also...but I'm sure if you've researched this there is nothing left out there...lol Good luck my friend!

lol ty peggy,,i think he was drunk when he was loading it,,and did something wrong,,he aint speaking lol gonna try to install that chip myself,,ugh,,no place here to take it,,im in BFE ,, calgary is a few hours away lol

Click on the link below,8888 is a common problem for sv. It may not help because it's for the ultra but...
