I'm all searched out....
OK I looked and looked and can't find the answer to this question. What do the rep power things on the user profiles mean?

Re: I'm all searched out....
They are generally used to qualify (loosely) the quality and or reliability of the answer you may be receiving to your questions from the person doing the answering.
This of course is not etched in stone, but meant as a guide.
Hope that helps a bit

Re: I'm all searched out....
Rep points (just as Thanked counts) are given by members and mods as per gratitude to the help provider by any other member. They weight in value according to the status of the person giving them. Per example, a Supermod or Mod rep point value is higher than that of a New member.

There is a sytem to it. Don't know, don't want to know, but this I have learned. You can't give the same person a rep hit twice in a row, you'll get a message saying "spread it around". And there is a limit in a day as to how many rep hits you can give. If you want to see if you had any hits go to User CP at top of page and see if you've had any. Not sure how many need to go from 0 to 1 or 1 to 2. Thx

Re: I'm all searched out....
i do know that based on the current system, that zeekster is about to get another star!
congrats man.
when you see a reply to a post, just below the avatar are some icons, one is rep points. if you like the reply to your questin, you can click the thanks button or you can click on that icon that says rep points. in either case both go up when users elect to thank or rep you.
cheers

Clicking on the scale in your own post will tell you how many rep points you have.

Thanks Zekester, good to hear from you man. After reading your post, I started thinking "I can give out rep hits?" and then noticed the icons underneath. Thanks to all for the info....
