My Mrs is wondering........If we lose local channels fom n3 will we be able to use the nfusion box as a converter box to get local channels from an old fashion antenna?

Re: using nfusion as a converter box

I don't think so.

Be patient, I bet Nfusion will be back up in a week or 2 minus PPV's.

Re: using nfusion as a converter box

I think if you use a duplexer, you can use the nFusion as a "Converter" box.

Re: using nfusion as a converter box

Your nFusion HD has a ATSC Tuner built in and may pick up the terrestrial digital transmissions from your local TV stations providing that you connect it to the proper antenna..

Re: using nfusion as a converter box

At first I saw this post and thought WTF lol, but then saw Triac-1's response and it makes sense. If the thing has an atsc tuner all he needs is a normal UHF antenna on the atsc tuner input and he is good to go. Here in San Diego you can stick a piece of wire about two feet long into the center pin of the antenna connector and get about ten locals in HD so I would guess with a real UHF antenna it would get a lot more, it's not magic. The so called digital antennas are like digital ready speakers lol total B.S. it is just a regular UHF tv antenna just like the ones that have been around for 40 years or so.
Good post triac, do you have a GF named SCR? jk.

Re: using nfusion as a converter box

I just plugged an antenna to the atsc input connector. I want to be able to switch between sat antenna and standard antenna via the nfusion (not the tv). I can't figure out how. It looks like I'd have run a coax from the loop out connector to my tv. Since my tv is digital ready, why wouldn't I connect antenna directly to the tv.

"Since my tv is digital ready, why wouldn't I connect Antenna directly to the tv."

Du! Well yea why wouldn't you just plug an antenna into the thing LMAO.
The post that this thread is about is not the situation that you have.
Reading the original post is highly recommended before posting or commenting, it can save you some embarrassment.
P.S. with your nfusion remote you can select between the two and not need to mess with the tv. It's in your instruction manual.
This thread was about using the nfusion tuner on a NON digital tv for local HD!
