Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
I have a HD sub setup, can I use the non HD VS Ultra.
If so how do I hook it up.
Questions:
1. Do I need a Disque
2. What setting do I need for VS e.g. LNB Type, LNB Freq, and Transponder.
3. Do I use the Loop thru on the VS.
These are the only things that come to mind, if I missed anything please let me know.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
Echo 7 119W
LNB Power: On
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
TP: 12239
DiSEqC: Port 1
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None
Echo 8 110W
LNB Power: On
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
TP: 12224
DiSEqC: Port 2
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None
129W
LNB Power: On
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
TP : 12282
Diseqc : Port 3
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None
You won't get much from 129, and the port assignments might be different, 119 might be 3 etc. Use the same settings for 129, the only difference really is the port assignments, the trans freq is only used to check for signal so the setting doesn't really matter.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
I setup my VS with the info on the post and no luck, I would get good signal strenght but my quality would be 85% and then it would die.
The only way i could make it work was to turn on the 22Khz, but i owuld only get the PPV, plus my Sub box would not work.
if i turned of my VS my sub box started to work. did i miss something or is this the way it should work.
any help would be appriciated.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
How many receivers are you trying to hook up to the dish?

On that Disproplus dish on the LNB there are three output connections.
The first is probably being used by your Sub. You need to connect another cable to the 2nd output and take it to your VS Ultra receiver.
Using the setup info of boboisno1, you should have the VS working as well as your Sub. Do not switch ON the 22KHz.
Try the above and let us know what happens.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
this is my set up 1000.2 dish, three SUB HD STB. Two single units and one dual, looks like i am using all the avaliable ports. What i did is disconected one of the STB and then hooked up my non-HD VS, I also used the loop thru connector to re-connect the sub-STB.
From all the info i have read looks like i will need to get a switch and run a separate cable to the VS. Does this sound right?

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
If your subbed receiver works perfect just connect your legacy STB with a second cable to the second port on the 1000.2 LNB array built into this unit there is a DiSEqC switch.
If you wish to in the future add a third cable you may connect it to the third port on the 1000.2 LNB array for a third receiver.
AS I pointed out earlier I had to add a DP power inserter for my legacy STB's.
These inserters have a carrier of >= 20Vdc to the cable feeding the LNB array.
This is the method what worked for me I have a long cable run to my STB. Other cable options or hookups are available using combinations of 22k tone switching and or dividers.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
The problem is that you are running one Sub through the LOOP through and that is why you need to shut off the FTA unit to get the sub to work.
You need a DPP44 switch, run the three out puts from the LNB to the inputs of the switch and then use the out puts 4 in all to your receivers.
So three outputs can go to your 3 subs and the 4th. to your STB.
Ask for more advise if required.

Re: Charly Sub HD and Viewsat
Giddy is correct; I missed reading that you have all ports full with your subs.
A DP44 switch plus a heavy duty power inserter p/n 126609 is required for the DP44 switch.
You may cascade these (44) switches adding one to another, each one will require the heavy duty power inserter. Each (44) and switch support four STB's
Max STB's is twelve if my memory is correct.
