Internet Key Service
The provider (server to whom you connect to over the internet) provides the Control Word (CW) that allows the STB and its illegal software to decrypted the encrypted signal that one receives while pointed at a specfic satellite.

Isnt that risky, and easier for someone to track you? Does the internet provider track you this way as well?

It's risky, but I am afraid this is the way it will work. More and more STB adopt this method.

Funny but true, if the government finds the server hosting the IKS, it will show over 100,000+ IP addresses logged per the server.
A simple IP trace and boom goes the dynamite.

I couldn't agree more. IKS is very dangerous. But there are ways to get around the dangers of IKS. I currently run my K-box IKS through an VPN account I setup at work. My traffic is encrypted and my IP address is get changed.
