Cannot lock onto 119
I have a DN500, w/ DP LNB, Using a STB Viewsat 200 ultra
here are my settings
110
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12224
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 2
motor -off
legacy switch -off
119,
LNB type - OCS-DP
LNB freq - 11250
22khz - off
LNB power - on
transponder - 12239
search option - all
network search - on
disqec - port 1
motor -off
legacy switch -off
I am locked onto 110, but my q bounces from 75 to 0. It will not lock onto that sat. I have tried changing coax, using an external switch. almost everythign I can think of. No matter how I move the dish, it will not lock. If I move my settings on to 119, it wants to lock onto 110 again.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
have you tried changing the port to 4 instead of one and matching it at switch? make sure power on stb is off.this almost sounds like a switching issue.you could also try hooking coax straight to reciever and check also.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
From what I understand, this LNb has an internal switch. I started with having 2 coaxs running into the switch, and experementing with diffrent ports. I also hooked one coax direct from LNB to STB with the same outcome. I do suspect a switch, But i have come to a road block.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
Sounds like you might have a bad LNB. If the LNB is old and been setting up, the internal switch might have gone bad. If you have another LNB, I would try that...

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
Suggest you get two Legacy Dual LNBs and connect them to a DiSEqC switch and try that to see if you can get it to work.
Please remember DiSEqC switches are very sensitive to spikes and you will have to unplug your receiver from the wall before doing any connections on a DiSEqC switch.
Better still since you are only trying to lock Onto 119 and 110 you can use a Legacy SW21 switch (If you use two Legacy LNBs) and in your settings, do as follows:
For 119
Legacy SW - SW21 Dish 1
For 110
Legacy SW - SW21 Dish 2.
Good luck.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
I had a challenge recently getting good 119 signal with DPP 500; drop back to basics; zero your skew and lock in on 110 solid; then skew your dish to get 119; lyngsat skew readings are not always accurate; if this process doesn't help then move on to suggestions above

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
I have triple checked everything, It has got to be either the LNB or the external Diseqc. am I correct by stating that with the dual LNB that there is no need for a external switch. Another thing that I do not understand is why when I change the Transponder # to the 119, it still locks in on the 110.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
A regular diseqc switch won't work with a dp lnb, you have to use a dp switch. Use your direct connect on the 119 lnb, find that first, and make sure when your locked on it, the receiver tells you your on 119.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
If you have a DP LNB then it has a built in switch and does not need an additional DiSEqC switch. Take the switch off and go directly to your receiver from the first connection on the LNB. That connection carried both 119 and 110 satellites to your receiver.
In antenna settings choose Echostar 8, 10, 110W and see if it locks on to 110W.
Next change to Echostar 7, 119W. If it shows a Lock on 110W then you have not setup the Dish correctly.

Giddy: I have hooked the coax direct into STB. It shows good S/Q on 110 port 1. when I try to lock on to 119, port 2 the quality bounces from 75 to 0 back and forth. If I change ports, ie. Port 3, it then stays w/ high quality but locks in on 110 still. Even if I change the TP freq. to 12239. LNB issue?

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
bhart309 - 119 should be on Port 1 and 110 on Port 2. That is how the DPLNB is internally setup.

I changed 119 to port 1 with no luck, it still wanted to lock on 110. I have great Q on 110, when I do switch ports, that is when I get the "jumping Q". if it stays locked, it wants to lock on 110, no matter what the tp settings are.

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
If they are DP-Plus Lnb's, and you want to use a switch to provide connection to mutiple STB's, then you may need to use a (DP34) or a (DP44 w/power inserter switch).

Re: Cannot lock onto 119
Since nag3, I have some time. I am awaiting another DP lnb, and going to give that a shot. I have ruled most everything else out. Any other help or ideas, let me know
