Question about what satellites (if any) are not N3
Hey everyone,
I have been searching around here on the forums for a while, and I cannot seem to find what I am looking for. What I am curious to is this...I realize that BEV, and DN have all but totally gone to N3. What I do not know is are there any satellites that I can aim at that are not N3?
I assume within the next few days or weeks that all DN will be running N3, so are there any birds I can receive that are still N2?
I would be very grateful if someone could give me a list of N2 satellites...if there are any. Or if there is anything I can do to remain using my FTA box.
I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the coders and members of ABADSS who have helped me enjoy FTA for as long as I have been using my STB.....Thank you all!
Oh, and please forgive me if there has already been a post about the same question. Like I said, I searched and I couldn't seem to find one (though i am sure there is...somewhere).

You can replace your receiver with a Sonicview, Kbox, or Nfusion these receivers still have alot a channels that are still up and more channels being added. Or you can use your receiver for true fta. Here is a link that might help.

Thank you, have you ever tuned to 123W? Are there many worth while channels? I am running a CW-800 and am on a budget so I probably cannot upgrade to a Sonicview, Kbox, or Nfusion anytime soon. However if I do buy one of those boxes which one would you recommend?

Re: Question about what satellites (if any) are not N3
Never tried 123w, but i recommend:
1. Sonicview
2. Kbox
3. Nfusion
they are all good.
Also I think the money it would cost you to get true fta sats would be about the same or more. Overall your better just to buy another receiver. True fta requires different dish, lnb's etc.
Here is a link to our true fta section that will tell you all you need to know if you do decide to go with a true fta setup.

You can try 97w and 123w. Both seem to be ok. I would get if only one the Sonicview. The Nfusion is a great receiver also, but Sonicview has proven support.

Thanks for the tips. I didn't realize that you had to use a larger dish...so I suppose I will save for a sonicview. Is there a particular model of sonicview that is good yet reasonably priced?
Thanks again

Thank you! What model of sonicview do you recommend? I am on a budget, and I want something with USB support...if possible.

Re: Question about what satellites (if any) are not N3
SV-360 Premier is a awesome unit. The Elite is exactly the same, except it has dual tuners and cost 30 bucks more.
The Nfusion is only $140 last I checked, The Sonicview with the Ihub and the Kbux with the Khub is around $200 so keep that in mind. Good Luck Bud

Thank you very much! I suppose if the Sonicview is only 60 bucks more, I may as well save up a bit more and get that one.
One more quick question(s), is the Sonicview and the others listed above able to decode nagra 3? Or will I be just delaying the inevitable and wasting money on one of these boxes as they too will be rendered useless (for the time being)? I am certain that down the road the code (bin file) people will crack N3 for most STB's, but untill that time will the Sonicview be able to get channels until that time?
Thanks in advance! I really appreciate your help!

Re: Question about what satellites (if any) are not N3
It hasnt decoded it, but alot of channels that we have lost due to N3, we are slowly getting back, so it looks somewhat positive for us.

Thanks for your reply. If may ask you what, and how these Ihub, Kbux, Khub things work? I don't honestly even know what they are. I have seen the Sonicview 360p package deal that comes with an Ihub...but I don't know what it is, how it works, or even what it does. I would be greatful for any help you can give me. I am assuming the SV 360p won't get the n3 channels without one of those devices?
Thanks in advance!
