iHub. . . . .Where?
OK, lets say I take the chance, buy the correct receiver, the iHub "parts" and have everything ready to use. Whom, where, do you make the internet connection with? What does that cost? How do you know you are not "connecting" with a dn spy?
With being able to track you with your ip address, it is most likely something I will not chance, but still interested in knowing.

Re: iHub. . . . .Where?
the connection is with a server that the sv coding team has established and the only cost is the price of the sv receiver the ihub and your monthly internet connection
i look at it like this
if you take a chance on downloading files from the internet through a fta site thenyou should not worry about downloading files from an iks server but that is just my opinion

Re: iHub. . . . .Where?
Ricksbeach/lilevil69,
Well, I have to agree with you more on that info. I would doubt the company you purchased the equipment from would be the one you should worry about. That makes me think the ihub would be safer than once thought.
That brings up another question: Comments from others on this site about the worry their ip address could be tracked. What about disconnecting the internet from the receiver when ever you were not using it?

Re: iHub. . . . .Where?
Their is no doubt that their is more of a risk with an internet connected receiver, than a stand alone bin, but that is where the game is going now.

Does anyone know if it is possible to go through a proxy, or through an IP address bouncer program like annonymouse.org? I guess the unit would have to be connected through a home network router and set up somehow to go through that website to the IKS server. Any ideas?

Re: iHub. . . . .Where?
If you want TV, other than true FTA, hooking to the internet will be the only means until one of the coder teams breaks Nag 3 encryption. There will be many thousands of us in court if they go after IP addresses...

Very true. But not every site can/could get you in trouble.
