What do i need?!
We are completely new to this and i am having trouble finding answers. We currently have direct tv and want to get a viewsat vspro. Can we use our direct tv dish? We also have a spare wildblue dish that has never been used but extremely large. I am also trying to find out what equipment we do need to have to get started. I am trying to get all of this info while my husband is away working so we can make a good choice on fat and have everything we need to hook this up without a lot of technical language can anyone help point us in the right direction?

Re: What do i need?!
at the moment the only receivers working are the ones that implement iks(internet key sharing) they are nfusion, kbox, and sonicview that is fro provider programming
for true fta get you a pansat which has the best blindscanning
best setup is a 30" dish or larger, a motor, and an invacom qph-031 lnb
welcome aboard friend
everyone here is willing to help you free
but to get the most out of the best site you will need to

Re: What do i need?!
Thank you so much for your quick response. I am still doing a lot of research. We are looking at the new pansat 4500 but i am still trying to find some answers. I found the lnbf that you mentioned with a 31" dish and a power tech dg280b hh motor and a 2 way 22khz switch, but am i going to have trouble finding the codes for programming. I have been searching the internet but it seems like i have to join and pay for sites to see if they even have codes for this. Still a little confusing for me. I think i am starting to go cross-eyed. If you or anyone else would not mind passing on a little more info it would be greatly appreciated. Maybe soon this will all start to soak in to my brain.!!!! Thanks a ton oh by the way does it make any difference that we live in louisiana for the receivers/satelittes?

Re: What do i need?!
Right now there are no codes for the receivers. Like posted above there are IKS receivers that are working. They have to have internet connection to beable to get the programming that it needs to work. If you are wanting true free to air then you will not need any codes for them to work. They all true free to air and all is needed is the 30" or larger dish , motor and lnb like post above. If we knew for sure what you are trying to do then we can answer you better. Hope this helps

Re: What do i need?!
Thanks! What we are trying for is to be able to pick up payper view channels, football etc... Same as we would if we subscribed to one of the services for dishes. This is where i am getting confused i think. If we go with the one for internet codes how easy are the codes to get?, do we just download those using the internet and then disconnect the internet from the receiver, if we are to go with one of the iks receivers which would be better and would we still want to get the dish, motor, & lnbf that i have posted above? Thank you so much for your time i do appreciate all the info.

Re: What do i need?!
I dont have one but what seems to be working now ad seems to have good support is the Kbox receiver. Most of the channels are open and seems to beworking pretty good from what I read. As far as PPV you will need to wait for a true crack on the NAG 3 for you to get those. I think the HBO's and that stuff are up an running. They have to be hooked to the internet at all times. Not sure if you can unhook it whenyou are not watching tv but if you are watching then you have to be hooked to the internet. You may want to do some reading on this to make sure it is something you want to do. Like I said, I dont have an IKS box I have just done alot of reading on it. As fas as the dish, You need the 500 from DN unless you are going hd then you will need the 1000.2 or 2 dish 500. One with a DPP and 1 single. You will not need the big dish unless you want true free to air. Hope this helps
