Newb Question
Hi Guys
I currently have FIOS but its getting to expensive (they raised the price again, much like cable TV) for me to afford it. I've been thinking of switching to FTA.
Questions:
I used to have DirectTV about 4-5 years ago so I still have their satellite dish on my roof. Its pointing towards the southern sky so I was wondering if I can use that dish to get FTA signals?
Since I FIOS I am used to all the HD programming on tv. How much HD programs can I from FTA?
Can I use my exisiting cable wiring to watch the satellite tv? I have wiring to 4 tvs. Would I need additional boxes?
I am not sure if I can mention this.. but I heard there are unscrupulous methods to get directtv or dish network signals and watch those... is that really possible?
Thanks

Re: Newb Question
Thanks, I realize that I register in 2007 but never made one post. I think at that point in time I cancelled cable tv and was thinking either Verizon FIOS or FTA and chose to go w/ FIOS so never made any post. FTA is very technical and pretty hard to understand but I am thinking of going thru with this since Verzion and cable tv just keep raising their prices..

Hello and welcome. I think you might learn some things if you use the search feature and type in "IKS".

Re: Newb Question
So is it possible to use my old satellite dish from Directtv to get FTA signals? Or do I have to go out and purchase another dish?
