Hi newbie help
I am thinking about buying the nfusion phoenix or CNX nano 2 I was wondering for either one of those do you need to have a serial cable because my laptop doesn't have a spot for Serial input and I was wondering if there is any thing I could do if I do need a serial cable. Thanks.

Re: Hi newbie help
nf is getting the most votes for stability and uptime..some like kbox as well..any of the 3 should serve you well..
to your question..you don't need a rs232 port on your laptopto load nf..loading can be done through a browser session to the stb..from a browser session you enter the IP address of the stb to gain access and load the file..also, for nf you can download the file directly from the nf server..
cnx nano provides a usb port for updating via usb stick..
can't speak to kbox but believe it has a usb port for updates as well..
NFusion steps to update from server:
>Menu
>Internet (ok)
>S/W Upgrade (ok)
>S/W Version Check (ok)
>Update (ok)
Wait until update finishes and reboots
File size= 902,556 bytes

Re: Hi newbie help
Thanks Satmaxx I bought a CNX Nano 2 I looked in the list of channels it gives and it gives you the same just about on dish and I love that. I mean they have great channel selection available. I have a viewsat Max HD and so I decided to move up to one that works for n3. I am surprised that iks works still though. I am loving it though I like the challenge so this is a great hobby for me. I bought from someone the cnx nano 2 for 175 and paid 220 total with overnight shipping so I am happy for that price. Thanks again Satmaxx for your help.

nano 2 is a great box and easy to setup also.....you will enjoy it.....you can also play and record shows/movies with a USB thumb drive.....very nice feature, and a far better quality receiver than nfusion (in my opinion).....
