Greetings all. Extreme newbie here. Just got a SonicView 8000 HD and am trying to get PBS on AMC 21. AMC21 is not on the receiver's satellite menu so I loaded in the transponder frequency, SER, etc. from Lyngsat's info on AMC21. I get signal strength of about 60 but no quality and, needless to say, no picture or audio. Has anyone successfully received AMC21 PBS on this receiver in the San Francisco vicinity? What else can I try.

yes i can view the HD channels there on my SV8000.....either you are not aimed correctly or you do not have the proper TP info.....

are you using a motor? or stationary dish? what kind of LNB? list all of your dish settings for it.....

Thanks for the response. I peaked the dish setting a little and did a blind scan and got all the PBS channels and one OETA Channel, Montana PBS, V-Me, Create, and an infomercial channel. All these are strength 70 +-, Quality 70 +-. Unfortunately, I did not find the Louisiana Public Broadcasting channels, which I especially wanted, on the blind scan. Tomorrow I'll try entering the TP info for LA Public Broadcasting and see if that works. Incidentally, I have a 32" dish and a 0.3 degree LNB. I'm really happy with the picture quality. Blows the cable picture away. Now I can get Mr. Rogers for my granddaughter. (None of the local PBS or Comcast channels have Mr. Rogers--probably the best toddler program ever made--go figure.)

Please let me know if you are able to get Louisiana Public Broadcasting and, if possible, the TP settings you are using to get it.
