Troubleshooting guide

No Signal?
1) Is your signal Quality good? You may need to move your dish
2) How’s your wiring? Check for loose connectors, kinks etc
3) Maybe a dead diseqC switch? Connect the main line directly to the LnB and see if that’s the culprit. A bad DiseqC will sometimes refuse to change satellites for you.
4) Bad LnB? An LnB that’s going bad can refuse to give you a good signal. Expect a sudden massive drop in Signal quality
5) Wrong settings? Check your installation settings. (Lnb type, Lnb Freq, DiseqC # etc) and confirm that they are correct. May also cause a Bad or Scrambled message too.
6) Was I drinking? Maybe you hooked up (for example) 119 to diseqC switch 1 but your Installation Menu on the reciever has 119 to DiseqC number 2.
7) Human Error? Did you plug your RG6 cable in the correct spot in the back of your STB? Were only human ya know

Bad or scrambled channel?
1) Did that channel move Frequencies? Sometimes Auto TP won’t pick that up. Rescanning can sometimes help.
2) Weather Maybe? It is possible. Can also cause a “No Signal” problem too.
3) Is the Key EMU set to ON? Check with your receiver how too’s on how to check that.

Wait for Picture or Standby download? Never ending Autoroll?
1) Latest Bin? Sometimes a current Bin is needed to fix a fake key roll
2) Change channel? Autoroll works better on a strong signal channel. You might want to try that.
3) Manual key entry? Has worked countless times. Check with the proper receiver section on how to do that. You can find updated keys at the in the " Keys" section.
4) I blame the Bin! If other peeps say that bin is working still except for you then try reloading that same bin

No EPG displaying?
1) What time is it? Make sure your Date/ time and GMT is correct. (Note that GMT should be set to reflect Daylight savings time)

My Reciever has these strange Glitches
1) Factory Time!! Download the factory Bin. It will clean those glitches up. Then download the Current bin right after.
2) Factory time again!! Factory Reset will fix other problems and give you a fresh start.

Read your other post and the password is 0000 for all receivers unless you change it then good luck.

Cool Strange problem

Thanks for useful info, that explained many thing but one. I have two dishes - one for 119 & second for 61.5 and a clon of Pansat 2500. Worked fine until I've got last bin loaded and now getting all the channels from 119 and some from 61.5. I know they are DN, so the first thing I've verified that the proper Nagra2 keys are installed. Still have the same problems - some 61.5 are working, some - not. What's the problem for this? Does 61.5 use different keys for different channels (providers) even though these are DN? If so, where can I obtain these keys and provider Nos (in particular, DN No for 61.5)? KeyMaster doesn't provide such info...
Thanks

If you lose some channels (but not all) you should rescan them again.
Clean unit first with factory reset to remove old channels, then AutoScan the birds again to get them back.
If keys were bad...you would get no channels (except Home channel #100).

Well, I did rescan and I didn't loose those channels, they just reported as bad or scrambled.
I didn't try factory reset. Do you mean, to load the factroy bin or just to go to menu and to do a Factory Reset?
Thanks

When I say "Lose Channels" I mean "Scramble Channel".
Just the Factory Reset should do it. Then AutoScan.

Junkie, looks like my reply/question has been lost. So I repeat it: I did factory reset as per your suggestion and still have no those channels on the 61.5 bird, whereas I have some. Why it's so? Are they using different keys?

You have 2 dishes...1 is pointed at 119...this is DN.
The other dish is pointed to 61.5...this is not DN...this is International TV.
The keys are the same for all FTA units...but DN is different from BEV.
I'm sure the keys work on 61.5 the same as for 119...we get Greek TV @ 61.5.
The factory reset is to clean off all the old channels in your receiver.
Often they move channels from one transponder to another...so if we eliminate our channels & scan the satellite again...we might get those moved channels back again.
For testing purposes...until we figure out your problem...lets forget about the dish with 119 DN on it.
Wipe the unit...then just AutoScan the 61.5 dish.
See if you can get them all in.
The scan will only pick up the channels that it finds working.
If your loading a channel list...that could be the problem...as it may be outdated with dead channels on it.
Maybe some of this will help...

Talking All people having trouble with channels

THIS MESSEGE IS FOR ALL PEOPLE THAT ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH CHANNELS

Ok now i know that lots of people are having trouble with keys and there sayng i got a "scrambeld or bad channel" i got a "wait for picture". and there saying complains like "i cant get any channels" or like "are my keys right"

These are some questions that people have asked and I got answers

Q: if it says " wait for picture" and the number is increasing and you get no picture?
A: This is for people that have either pansat or fortec. So you first need to check if you have the latest keys. And check if you have the latest bin.

Q: If it says " scrambled or bad channel" and you are waiting and getting no picture?
A: This is usually for all recivers. So you also need to make sure you got the latest bin and keys.

Q: If you got no quality and you only have a signal?
A: This means that your reciver is connected to the dish that you want but it is pointing in the wrong direction so fix the angle the dish is pointing and you should get quality.

Q: If your signal is like 0-30% and you got 0% quality and your sure that your dish is pointing in the right direction?
A: Dont worry this does not mean your dish is pointing in the wrong direction this means that the cable connected from the dish to your swtich is not working so either change the cable's DiSEq's number or if it still dosent work you have to change the swtich.

Q: If only one channel is not working and everything else is?
A: This means the that channel's frequency is not connected to that satellite so to fix this problem either rescan that TP and if it still dident work you have to wait till the frequency is updated

Q: If a one of your satellite is not working in DN or BEV and the other one is working?
A: This means that that sattellite's provider for DN or BEV got update. For example: the DN provider changed from 01 01---->01 06 and echo3/ku does not work anymore. So you have to change the bin to the newst bin and that satellite should work.

Hope this helps!

Try a reboot from rear of unit...see if that works.
